Thankfully, they’re not too hard to replace on these trucks!

Very helpful vid. Figured out what the squeaking was and I’m so ready for my 02 Burb to quiet down😂. One question though. Does greasing the part that goes back into the transfer case get rid of the infamous GM clunk?

How do you know when to replace these? Was it making a noise or a certain number of miles? Just curious.
@TheDaninator10 ай бұрын
That’s a good question. Mine was squeaking. The truck had 200k miles on it at the time of repair. My Silverado had 200k+ on it when I changed those.

They start to squeak when you start rolling

Mine has been clunking, especially in reverse. I checked it and it has a full 1/2" of play. Whoops.

The clunk. If it gets really bad, vibration.

Thats not easy i dont have that tool

You can rent the tool for “free” from your local auto parts store. You pay however much they charge for the tool, and when you bring it back, you get your money back.

Also you can find some inexpensive yet quality sets. Would be a valuable addition to your tools.
