When James Horner died, Universal should've brought out that fanfare one more time for one of their movies using their newer logo. I understand they'd have to trim the soft part at the start off, but it would've been a great tribute.

Makes me cry, the NOSTALGIA. Arguably one of the most beautiful musical scores for any movie of all time. Something about this brings up a thought about being one of the best film scores of all time and it really is arguably. What if James Horner in the plane of the 1927 logo and when the flew around the earth and into the clouds, what if that was Horner himself flying to heaven?

I had NO idea James Horner did the fanfare for Universal's 1990s logo (which I've seen hundreds of thousands of movies with this logo) until now! COOL!
@AgsmaJustAgsma4 жыл бұрын
Jerry Goldsmith composed the more famous fanfare used between 1997 and 2012 (and then rearranged by Brian Tyler which is used to this day). While Jerry Goldsmith is probably my favorite movie composer of all time, his fanfare pales in comparison to the beauty that is James Horner's take on the Univeral logo. It's criminal how it only lasted a couple of years.
@jandreidrn4 жыл бұрын
Agsma, Just Agsma though I must admit whenever I heard Goldsmith's original version I can't help but feel the movie must be very good. Horner's I feel like I'll be watching some children's fantasy.

A theme that had a ton of effort that gave viewers that imaginative feeling... that your mind will go on an adventure... No matter if it's going back in time to the old west, Fighting fires in Chicago or playing with your St. Bernard, you know that this theme has been a hit for many generations to come.

I'm pretty sure that very logo montage was used for the 75th Anniversary fanfare. You can see it in Back to the Future Part III. Edit- Hmm. Rewatching, it's almost exact, but not quite. The only logo that's missing in BTTF is the Universal International logo.

@@EdReedFan20 Also the 1963 logo has the byline, "AN MCA COMPANY," as opposed to it saying A Universal Picture, which is shown in this video.
