We didn’t have it near as bad here, but still lost a section of our fence and had a ton of downed limbs but luckily every one of them missed the house! Counting our lucky stars.

These updates are awesome - they really help build excitement and anticipation. Its a shame about all of the extra water that was dumped on the site .. but maybe its a blessing in disguise for them in helping to determine low spots and possible drainage trouble areas.

It’s a good thing the vr ride got canceled. This is because universal doesn’t need this ride at the time of opening epic universe as there is already so much there to attract guests and sales. In addition to this it allows for universal to farther improve on whatever will eventually go here. Overall by waiting universal can build a better attraction and get more return on its investment.

Monsters Land flooded, you say? That just means it's now Creature From The Black Lagoon Land.

New permits are showing much less water than the original, so it seems like they won't be doing a Wolf Man-themed coaster over water, thankfully. The raised area between the retaining walls was stumping me. Why? There are supports for coaster track that mysteriously hug right up against the retaining walls on both sides. Then I zoomed in and saw the walls aren't done growing. Alicia, I think you need to expand the outline of the station building. I think the long rectangular "wing" should surround the four concrete footers that are inside the retaining walls, which means those retaining walls will be going more vertical, becoming the station. (The maintenance bay doesn't have to match the outline perfectly. It very well may sit entirely inside the station, or share just one or two walls.) If so, the station will be huge, able to not only have an indoor queue, but most likely some indoor scenes for the coaster. That's what I think the four footers in the rectangular area will be. You will probably exit the station, turn the corner and enter "Scene 1" here. Add much as I would like to see a Mack Xtreme, I don't think it's possible in this small space unless they spaghetti-bowl the crap out of this. Plus, they seem to have a family-ride-only mandate going on in this park, so I'm expecting a Hagrid-level experience. I think we need a "tamer" experience if we're going to have run-ins with the Wolf Man. I feel pretty good about the station/ride building, but I can't figure out what's going on with "Scene 2". Or the aesthetic. The original film and that crappy remake were all about a foggy, leafless forest, which would be fantastic. But what would the building be? Speaking of Hagrid's, I thought it might be the ruins of a Cathedral or Abbey, which would explain the distance between buildings here. (I just watched the trailer for the remake and Abbey ruins do make an appearance.) My biggest issue how we will actually reach Scene 2. They seem like they're trying to create a circular path in the land instead of a dead-end, so will people walk under track to get to the entrance or walk on by? This just got interesting... Also, the third Mack coaster might be for Hollywood. A launching coaster is the only thing that makes sense for a rumored Fast & Furious ride.

I rode the twist and splash at Rulantica. It moves very slowly so it would be really boring, except soaking random people with the water cannons is awesome. It is extremely wet though with the cannons, which is why I’m not sure if it would work outside a water park

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (near San Francisco) has a ride like that and it's not a water park. We didn't get too soaked riding it, though it may not have been at full capacity. Way less wet than a log flume or river ride though. More fun than a carousel too.

I'm hoping so bad they go with a Mack extreme spinner. I've ridden Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City and it's so good! Also, Ride to Happiness at Plopsaland in Belgium is said to be the best coaster in the world by many in the coaster community. Just imagine the theming and what Universal could do with a Mack extreme spinner.

🤔 It seems like someone with friends at Mack came into this project and tried to Six Flags-ify things. Classy carousel replaced with lower-capacity splash ride. Next generation show and beautiful medieval sight-lines replaced with lower capacity outdoor spinning coaster.

With everything else in the park and the uncertainty around the future of the HP franchise, it makes sense to go with the ministry ride and show (wand battles?) and leave the rest for expansion.

Considering the fact that Universal's contract requires them to build new and world-class Harry Potter attractions regularly, it makes sense to preserve space for future expansion of the Wizarding World. However, it's unfortunate that there won't be a direct physical transportation connection between the existing Wizarding World and the new one being built. I'm sure Disney would be happy to loan a box truck...

Is this all drone footage? I was wondering how the channel is allowed to show every stage of construction/ leaks? I’m assuming most permits and site plans might be public? I have a couple of friends working there. They told they can’t use cell phones on site, for fear of being released off the project/ job. While I was in conversation. I noticed they really didn’t speak of any exact details.

The photos are taken from a helicopter which has greater permissions to fly over than drones. And all site plans are taken from publicly available permits with the county.

Yes I am. I was lucky the hurricane did not affect me too badly, but we did loose half of our backyard fence. It took awhile to clean up all the downed limbs too, but by some miracle we did not lose our power during the storm. Not everyone in our neighborhood was as lucky though. -Alicia

If you've been to Universal in CA then you know it is literally in the middle of a huge city. It is a real working studio and has an awesome studio tour. There is no room for another park. It also has more than 6 rides and is getting the new Mario Kart attraction. About 30 minutes away is Magic Mountain, one of the best 6 Flags. What it lacks in theming it makes up for with an awesome coaster line up. Never mind Disney, Sea World, Legoland, and a million things to do in Sandiego.
