This version is so overwhelmingly that much better than any other version. Director Joe Wright and the producers have created an amazing period film that works on so many levels. His preparation of the actors should be mandatory case study for aspiring stage and film directors. He got all the Bennett sisters in the house for a whole day, so they could play in the space, and get to know it and each other.

Camilla Melelli. No you are not. To me it sounded somewhat melancholy, however not truly unhappy though. I have never read nor heard her say anything about her having had an unhappy childhood. She travelled a lot with her parents. They were both artists. I can imagine that she may have wanted one or more siblings and meant that with her comment of never having experienced that as a family. Just my speculation anyway🤔🎭😌

@@IndomitableT my husband and a good friend of mine were only children and they said they weren't unhappy children at all. Both grew up early, becoming very responsible and mature at young ages, but both had several very close friends that were LIKE siblings. I guess they might miss the feel of a large family, but they didn't miss the having to share your belongings part! Or the sharing of parental attention...😏

Nice to hear what Donald Sutherland has to say about his co stars who play the five Bennet girls (Keria Knightly, Rosamund Pike, Jena Malone, Carey Mulligan, and Talulah Riley), and I agree that they were a wonderful and lovely family. Also, I say they were socially nice, and beautiful cast together as their roles, in the costumes on the sets in England. Especially how they play around with each other and interact nice together, with what the other cast have to say about each other or other things. They most beautiful and socially together they're in ball gowns for the Netherfield ball (at 2:43, 3:27, and 6:40), mostly Rosamund Pike and Talulah Riley; in addition, (5:26) Talulah Riley putting her arms on Rosamund Pike. Wonderful that Talulah Riley and Carey Mulligan are friends, and this was the first time they've acted, in a movie/show. (4:03 to 4:46) Jena Malone and Carey Mulligan make a great couple off set or on set. Rosamund Pike hugging Talulah Riley (5:46), Rosumnd Pike sitting the middle next to Jena Malone & Carey Mullian (5:57). See this as the best Pride and Prejudice movie there ever has been. It would be great if there were more features to this movie.

It's those moments or frames when Keira is alone out on the moors atop that clifftop; the wind shuffling her skirt as she contemplates and muses about her carefully concealed flirtation with Mr. Darcy. And that music is just ethereal.

@@kevintan1104 Thank you for pointing out that this is also a British version! The director, screenwriter, the production company, and the entire cast with the exception of Jena Malone are all British. I love the 1995 BBC version for its fidelity to the book (which I love even more), but it bothers me when this version is thought of as "Americanized"- if anything, it's been Brontë-fied.
