This guy is so awesome, but holy cow was he a lot of work. Hope you guys enjoyed the video! Below is essentially Oogle’s entire story.
Poor guy was pieced back together with superglue at one point by a previous owner, which had his mechanism completely jammed up. His motor was also dead.
So I replaced his entire mechanism since it was ruined by the glue, and I replaced his motor. He seemed to be doing fine until he randomly started freezing again, I eventually found out his BRAND NEW motor died on me, and it was my last one.
He was sitting in pieces for months until I finally felt like continuing work on him, I ordered new motors, and they worked!!
Even after all of that, he isn’t perfect. As you can see, he has a furby’s battery compartment. His original one had broken contacts and was missing the door, so I just replaced it. Sadly no name or info was on any other part of him.
Another thing, his microphone. It didn’t work, and even after I replaced it I couldn’t get a response out of it, so I guess that’ll remain a mystery until I someday figure that out. Sorry.
And last of all, I noticed that he has a mercury switch for his tilt sensor, it is amazing to me that it’d be put in a kids toy.
Ooh and about his name, “Oogle”, when I was originally super excited about finding out he had a unique program, I showed it to Electronic Gore! and some others, he mentioned it sounded kinda like an Ooglie, and from my memory called him Oogle Boogle, and Ooglie Leopard. I really liked Oogle, so I decided that was gonna be his name.
