I had no idea Saxon would be in this so I laughed when I heard Biff's voice! Such perfect "casting". I expect you've at least heard their anthem _Denim_ _and_ _Leather_ if nothing else. All being well I'll be seeing them supporting Judas Priest in a couple of months' time!

The 80's NWOBHM band is called Saxon. You definetely check out theis songs , especially "Crusader", their biggest hit!

An incredible collab, and not just the vocals. The Saxon guitarists have a different style from their AA colleagues but their solos fit in perfectly with this song. Biff's vocals are legend. I first heard Saxon back in '81, metal growling wasn't a thing yet (the closest you'd get was Lemmy) but you could often hear people comment about Biff "Does he have to sound so angry?" :)

This is a perfect mix of sub genres! Oldschool heavy metal/power metal works perfectly with melodic death metal 🤘 Epic song! Love Amon Amarth, and Saxon are pretty good too 😉

i have been a amon amarth fan since 1998/1999 and they are awesome, but i have been a saxon fan since 1987 and they are fucking amazing, pure rock/metal

This is epic. Thank you. Check out Deloraine, "Ragnarok". Cinematography is wonderful and the story told is the final battle. The Shield Maiden and the Seeress, the traditional instruments all weave a spell.

Passed me by way back then Viking, was busy with my 2 young kids, (both older than you are, got 2 younger than you also.) will be making up those lost years in the next couple of days now though.. that was Epic loved your reaction of course, infectious enthusiasm my headbanging is not as good as it was, but sure am working on it. Carlos...I wrote a whole comment, but it contained the addresses about the BAND. It won't stick. I copied the entire thing before reloading the tab to see if it WOULD stick, and when it didn't, I pasted it into the notification page on PATREON. It did try it again, with particulars that didn't include the addresses (and I don't dare use the real words for THAT word...sigh), but...nope. So...here's the watered down comment, so that at least that part will be shown here... - - - - - - - - - - At 4:07, when the second army (the Saxons...right?) shows its face, the man singing the song reminded me VERY strongly of John Schlitt (from Petra), in both sound and looks. INTERESTING! I'm thinking this would be a great song for Dan Vasc to cover, because he could do both sides! 😀 The guy I'm talking about, is the one about whom you asked, "Who IS this guy..." and asked about the different band. The band is ACTUALLY called...SAXON! The Amon Amarth, of course, are...The Vikings. What fun! 😀 That battle scene is extremely EPIC! Wow! (I typed that BEFORE you said it, by the way! Grin) The WIKI article informs us that the band WAS still there in 2023 (it lists all the change-ups for it, but...yup...it still seems to be intact). Regarding the "demon voice," that is probably pretty much why some people thought that Dan had given himself over TO an actual demon voice. Most people have NO idea what a REAL demon might sound like. All they have EVER heard is what's been put into movies and songs. I KNOW what a demon's voice sounds like. Guess what...most of the time, that would NOT be it. That doesn't mean I'm not agreeing with you about the sound of the voice, because that's exactly what they were going for, I would say. 😀 I LOVE THIS! IT WAS GREAT! Loved how you loved it, as well. 😀

You not listen The Great Heathen Army album yet...damn man..this song and Heidrun are best song's on album..and maybe not know Johan was quest on Saxon album Thunderbolt..they have amazing chemistry together..Bif and Johan work good together..

Carlo, it 's me again! Don't know what other later Amon Amarth songs you know , but Heidrun is from the same Great Heathen Army album. Bit more pop-metal if you may call it that. And there's the song Put Your Back Into The Oar. Also another epic song from just 2 or 3 years back

I must admit, the fact that there were men wearing sunglasses and glasses to go to a Viking battle took me completely out of the moment and made the scene not really believable. Like as soon as they come to the edge of the forest…ah, there’s Wal-Mart! (Loved the beat/drums though.)
