For a couple of other motivations for villainy, how about addiction, like Mr. Hyde, or politics, such as Erik Killmonger (also revenge for his dad's execution by King T'Chaka, a previous Black Panther, and American racism).

Those are great motivations too. Villains are complicated people and their motivations are numerous. I just gave my top 5 and was looking forward to hearing from others. Thanks for the comment.

I made a hero i thought was perfect but so far his only motivation is his younger brother i really don't have anything to make him want to be a hero

Man I wish we had evil people in Mcu movies now. Sympathetic villians is nice but it's getting cheesy now.

So my main villain was a hero from thousands of years ago and wants to kill all gods and become the only god believing all gods are evil kinda like Gorr and he created the hero kinda the same way he got his power and some other complex manipulation stuff
