Haha 😆 cheers! I've never been into Cold Steel either but this one looked like a good deal for what you get. I don't have any overbuilt knives and kind of wanted one and thought this would be great. Might be the only Cold Steel I ever own.

Nice review on the Cold Steel Scout. I seen that knife on Amazon. That's a beast of a knife. Interesting trilock system. You're right that would be a great chopper.

Does the AUS10 rust easily? Does it require maintenance such as oiling?

I don't have a ton of knives in AUS10. So I haven't experienced any rust with it. It's stainless steel, but I've never had to use it in harsh conditions. I'd say if you aren't carrying a knife that's extremely corrosion-resistant like Vanax, a good rule of thumb is to just give her a little down at the end of the day after using it and you should be fine. I like to use wicked wax. You can use it on any material, it's organic and food-safe. The smallest amount goes a long way too. amzn.to/3Y1UnG7

In terms of corrosion resistance, I’d say it’s quite robust. Certainly better than AUS-8A or 8Cr13Mov. I have an AD-10 Lite that i use regularly. I just keep it clean after use, and wipe off any moisture before storing. Not a speck of rust yet (2 years in, and i oiled it only 2,3 times total)
