I'm bipolar and was put on a medication that made me gain over 80lbs in 1.5 yrs, and it made me diabetic and get metabolic syndrome. The NP never did any blood work, and your A1C should be checked quarterly on these meds. It literally said on their website that vraylar can cause diabetes. I thought I was dying, and covid had everyone shut down, doctors not seeing patients. The diabetes reversed after a year off vraylar but I'm still very insulin resistant even on 15mg of mounjaro. (A fasting blood test called HOMA IR is how you're diagnosed with insulin resistance.) I have gotten most of the weight off, am 17lbs away from a healthy BMI for the first time in 10 years. Weight loss is slower for people with insulin resistance and diabetes even on these meds. Exercising isn't going to do much for weight-loss. Strength is gained in the gym and weight-loss is earned in the kitchen. I can't exercise due to health issues and I lost 83lbs just with calorie counting & prioritizing protein. Protein digests slower, reduces blood sugar spikes & crashes which make you want more carbs in 2 hrs. You also burn 30% of the calories just breaking it down into amino acids to use.

I have ADHD too, with pretty bad panic disorder, generalized anxiety, cPTSD, MDD and post narcissistic abuse syndrome as well as battered women's syndrome. I remember struggling SO HARD with my body image growing up because my parents made me take stimulant ADHD medications even though they didn't help, and I was so ridiculously thin and so much taller than everyone else I was just so miserable...the flip side of that is when I graduated and left home I stopped taking it and my weight started to yo yo on its own. I had no awareness or understanding of what would cause my weight to change, but it was normal for me to gain or lose 20 pounds in the span of a couple months and I always felt like I was the opposite of what I actually looked like. Now I'm 36 and PCOS has been rocking my world for about 5 years but over the last year I've gained 90 pounds after becoming disabled and ending up in the hospital for several months at a time, 3 separate times. I have no appetite, but I do eat clean and I am as active as I possibly can be. What you said really resonated with me, as I've been considering semaglutide medications for a little while but since it's only been a year of being very overweight, I feel like it's a cop out and I haven't tried hard enough 😕 diabetes runs in my family, my sister was diagnosed at 7 years old and her sugars and A1C are out of control still 23 years later. I appreciate you sharing your insights, it was very helpful to hear your perspective and experience 🖤

That stuff should never be done with a hylaron pen! Plus knowing biology etc to make sure nothing goes where it isn’t supposed to!

Move more, eat less. A food scale to learn what a proper portion looks like. You can eat anything in moderation as long as you move.

I like how every single weight-short cut involves working out and eating healthy to maintain the weight-loss 😅

The saddest part, after all this work people are getting done, they STILL have to go to the gym to maintain smh. Just go to the gym and save your money.

People really do not care about their bodies anymore and it’s horrifying

So...when these trends go awry, doesn't that mean any medical care afterwards ISNT covered by insurance? At this point how much out of pocket money is Tiktok making doctors/dentists from these obviously harmful "cosmetic" procedures? And we already know needless pens are horrid!!
