Sorry Brian, I know there a 99% chance you won't see this... but you were mistaken. Archer is removed from the Cycle of Reincarnation and exist outside space itself in the Throne of Heroes. Meaning he can never escape his fate, him fading away was due to Counter Force deploying him into action to continue his fate. Only difference is that he has renewed resolved Shirou doesn't end up as Archer, none of the Shirou in all three routes do... they have the potential to become Archer but the multiverse timeline is infinite. This is why Saber said 'Even if you kill this Shirou, you yourself won't disappear. You exist outside the confines of Time and Space.' Archer was basically desperate and was trying to attempt a paradox, he was happy if he can prevent one timeline having him

In ubw, Shirou faith is reinforced thanks to the confrontation of the future Archer. But we will never know for sure though.

Archer origin in term of him being nameless hero, thus his existence as as servant is sort of concept/template that be the foundation of his core... Just like how sasaki is 'not the real sasaki, but closes to what sasaki is said to be' due to many stories n myth in his legend, archer's more is 'the end of what shirou can be, but not of who/which shirou it is to be' or something like that, not sure how to put it in a word🤣🤣🤣

Archer is not the Shiro of the Unlimited Blade Works timeline - he's actually not Shiro from any of the three Fate/Stay Night timelines. Archer is Shiro from one of the unshown timelines in the multiverse, one that is kind of a "failed" version of the Fate timeline (the first one). While Shrio and Saber won the Holy Grail War in that timeline, Shiro did not achieve his objective in getting Saber to give up on obtaining the Holy Grail (the "win" condition of that timeline), and the end result drove him into being a hero of justice without restraint, and the choices he made as a result of having no restraint is what made him become a Heroic Spirit, and eventually become Archer in UBW timeline. In the UBW timeline, however, Shiro does aim to become a hero of justice, but he has Rin acting as his restraint. He won't make the same mistakes as the Shiro from that unnamed timeline made, so he won't become a Heroic Spirit in the future. That doesn't mean the Heroic Spirit EMIYA doesn't exist, however - the events in the other timeline that made him become a Heroic Spirit still happened, and these spirits aren't bound by timeline.

That what i think also when i think of archer's plan to kill shirou... Assuming he succeed in killing shirou to create a paradox so he didn't become a counter guardian, it still have variable that both he n shirou of this series is not of same person/timeline, so even if he succeed it have high probability that it won't change anything right ..? Still, that is great explanation there😆😆 Knowing shirou, he probably gonna made some mistakes/choice as archer did but with rin at his side, she can guide him as to not stray from his own ideal... Shirou not just was in Archery club, he was literally the best one there. He missed only once, and even then it was just to see what will happen. He has insane talent in this, basically to the point where he can`t miss the target unless he wants to. This is why his another self is Archer, not in any other class. And no matter what FSN route Shirou is, he won`t become Archer.

It's an alternative ending. Fate/Stay Night is originally an visual novel with different routes and endings. UBW's final episode adapted the "true ending", meanwhile the OVA will show you the "normal ending". I hope you will also react to this OVA to complete the UBW Route.

I mentioned in a earlier post, Throne of Heroes exists outside of time and space. Possible timeline, parallel universe exist at the same time. Archer will forever be a Counter Guardian. The event of Unlimited Bladeswork will lead to Shirou taking slightly different route, and therefore likely won't lead him to becoming Archer.

Btw heaven's feel trilogy is actually UBW with twists since it's a different timeline from UBW so you need to kinda reset your knowledge here and expect something new yet familiar.

sadly.. Archer Emiya will exist, as long as you made contract with counter force a copy of you will exist as guardian.. also there's a lot of Shiro Emiya and Archer Emiya versions across Fate series.. so have fun meeting them if you plan to watch Fate series as whole..

I guess for that "timeline" or however you want to call, that you can see if want to know more about some of the already known characters could be: The case of Lord El-Melloi II who's Rider's master from Fate/Zero after wars. The parallel/different routes that are adapted in other anime or movies like Heaven's Feel. There's spin-offs like Phantasm Carnival that is a funny crossover with Tsukihime, and the wholesome characters just chilling in Today's menu in Emiya Family. Not so far reboot by using some of the same characters but alternated could be Fate/Kaleid where you can see more about Lluvia and Rin (the blonde girl in blue) which for me it has a lot of everything but prob gonna make some people uncomfortable (It's really not a big deal what for some is controversial, not *everyone* who watches it are for *that side* of the content really, there's a lot than just that in the show). And the rest of Fate are just different worlds and characters (in the most part, as servants can be summoned in any time)

So archer is still stuck as he was removed from the cycle meaning forever he's a guardian however in the timeline archer never existed but archer still exists . The whole series of fate is really based of fateism the concept that fate will always win and one way or another its set in stone you can't cheat fate you can only alter another's but yours is set in stone .
