@@SergeAuguste once you learn the basic pattern then you can apply it to the chord progression. So before you go to the D major chord you'll begin the walk up on 2nd beat of the 4th bar.

Playing for about 50 years, just never learned this. Seen, heard it a lot, just didn't get there until you pointed it out so easily. Grateful.

I'm so glad I could help you. There's always something new to learn on the guitar which is why this is a lifelong journey. I''ve been playing nearly 40 years and like you I often find some new technique to add to my repertoire. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the sub. I appreciate you. Personally I love walk ups and always use them when I'm strumming. Once you get the hang of them, you can start speeding up a little and then things get a little country-ish!. Have you been playing long? Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Was there anything in particular about this video that you found helpful? What guitar do you play? My "weird" guitar is a Vantage that I bought many years ago. It's not bad but I find the fretboard to be a little too wide.

Even as a newbie, I find it easier to barre the fmaj. Otherwise I mute at least one of the strings involved!
@guitar.forbeginners.withdave8 ай бұрын
That's great that you're playing the full barre shape because there are so many great rhythm guitar strumming styles you can play. Are guitar walk ups new for you? Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

@guitar.forbeginners.withdave8 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. The struggle is real! But if you keep practising you will eventually get a better sounding C chord. When you fret the chord make sure your fingers are nicely arched. That'll slowly help get that muting sorted. Keep at it! Let me know how you get on.

@@guitar.forbeginners.withdave Thx for the tip! I’m a late bloomer. I do have a teacher whose pretty patient however I find it a bit intimidating when I’m in front of him because being a beginner it’s like listening to a grade one student trying to read. I almost get embarrassed. Trying to make it all click at once. I’m realizing it’s a very slow process however practise makes perfect.
@guitar.forbeginners.withdave8 ай бұрын
Don't be intimidated just cos you're starting out. We've all been there! I'm sure your teacher remembers what it's like. I had a patient teacher too when I started out and that helped to take away the stress for me. It is a slow process but a fantastic one!

Sometimes beginners can be overloaded with info so with this video I decided just to do walk ups and leave walk downs for another video. This way a beginner can cjust focus on getting this right before moving on. Thanks for watching!
