we had the exact same story play out in toronto. people were protesting a synagogue that was doing land sales in occupied palestine and the MSM basically smeared the protest as being unacceptable and “finally going too far” basically.

It’s interesting how they try to say that anti-z is the same as anti-s, and yet they only ever say you shouldn’t be anti-z. If they’re equal, why not instead ask about anti-s (obviously so many things wrong about that, beginning with the misnomer). "Anglo community" means neighbourhoods where there are many English-speakers. In pretty much every country, immigrants cluster together with others from similar backgrounds. Israel is no different. There is nothing sinister about that whatsoever. I believe you know this and are being deliberately obtuse.

This is such a bizarre conversation. Israel is a sovereign state since 1948. The land legally belongs to the state of israel. There is NO despute at all about the legality of the land in the borders of 67. People from anywhere can come and purchase land there. American jews can come and purchase land in israel. This is totally legal and normal. English speaking neighbourhoods are simply places where there might be an English speaking school. Very similar to how things are everywhere in the world. These 2 Palestinians are not living in reality. 😅😅😅

They are selling land in illegally occupied territory. They also are doing it in Canada, one could check the towns where the properties are! Also seeking cover in a synagogue. Many Jewish people protested the sale of stolen land. And btw you are proving what a sham and lie the “two state solution” is and ALWAYS was. I feel lied to by the media and US government over all those decades, I relied on the New York Times and CNN for ex for my news. Thought Clinton was actually trying to make peace, give the Palestinians their human and natural rights. I bought it. I actually thought the Israelis were trying. Now it is glaringly OBVIOUS to me that has all been a lie, they have just been ethnic cleansing the Palestinians all along, killing and driving them out, and are now committing the most barbaric genocide. I am almost 60 and i have never been seen such a horrifying display of racist supremacism by Israel and the US leaders and shadow-leaders, for that matter. Because before it was hidden, there were no smartphones, fewer independent journalists, and people like me relied on CNN and the NYT. Never again will I trust those news sources or the US government, what I’ve seen has completely changed my world-view, and seeing the depth of the defence of this horror by people like you, and others online, has just strengthened my resolve to never stop fighting to protect Palestinians who have had their most basic rights denied for so long. What you were doing is not gonna work in the long run and is backfiring hugely. Just like the desperate attempt to attack and malign anyone who defends the Palestinians right to LIVE.

Your statement is naïve and denialist. "Israel" is only a sovereign state to the powers deciding so during the colonial time of 1948. The Palestinian Arabs refused to recognize this arrangement as would anyone whose land was being stolen. Statehood would not pass now in a UN that includes freed colonial states especially in Africa. Many Jews refused to settle in "Israel" because they recognized that it was founded through the violent theft of stolen land. I admire their integrity.

@azalia423 the league of nation recognised the jewish right over the land. The un voted for thr partion plan and once israel was created the un, America and the rest of the democratic world recognised it as a sovereign country. Exactly like every other country in the world. The Palestinians and arab countries that refused to recognise israel started the 47 - 48 illegal genocidel war against the jews. They lost and now have no legal claim for any part of the land.
