another positive video.. we need all the help we can get in the fight against cancer.. I have a date of 15th Jan to start my chemoradiation, but waiting for a chemo meeting to go over the treatment and get a start time.. also need PEG fitted, so little more to do before the big day.. going to ask for Flamigel RT for radiation, as I have a weakened immune system due to splenectomy, and I need all the help I can get in keeping my skin intact to reduce the possibility of infection... I hope you had a lovely xmas, and all the best for the New Year.. cheers.

Wishing you much success with chemoradiation. I am hoping you have a great support system, and a wonderful significant other to be with you throughout this journey. I went through the process from August - September of 2022 for throat cancer. I am 100% free and clear for over a year now. Wishing the same and better for you!!!

Hi Lozda, Good luck in the coming treatments. I recommend starting getting used to the PEG and work out your process before it becomes absolutely necessary. Thank you for the kind words and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well! Lee

just a quick update after my 1st chemoradiation treatment.. on the way out I was asked if I'd like to try a new treatment that they have not long started to ease the effects of the radiation.. it is Photobiomodulation, and I think it uses low level infra red.. you have a 'lollipop' that you put on and under your tongue for a minute each, then you have a disc like instrument that you hold against your jaw, along the sides and on the mouth, all for 1 minute.. I probably look a bit of a chump lol, but hopefully it will work a treat for me.. I shall keep you informed.. cheers!

Please keep us informed. If this is a procedure offered by the cancer clinic I would definitely have jumped at the chance to relieve ANY side effects! Lee

Please 🙏 help, my tonsil had a tumor my ENT said let's do a tonsillectomy and do a biopsy on it so we did it came back HPV 16 positive now he setting up a pet scan to see what cancer is left and told me that quote ( radiation is the only treatment available there is no chemo therapy for head and neck cancer) my research says different but that's only on Google I mean what do I do with that it doesn't sound right by the way that was squamous cell carcinoma please advise

Hi Michael, My only advice is, if you are not comfortable with the decisions or prognosis of your doctor, to seek a second opinion. I have to admit that I am surprised that your doctor would say that only radiation therapy is the only therapy available for SCC. Where are you located? Lee

@@theregularguy141 thanks for responding I'm located in Tavares Florida just north of Orlando I'm definitely going to seek a second opinion from another ENT

In my opinion, I would take the reports, including the PET scan, to an Oncologist. Your ENT may be very good at ENT stuff, however your oncologist will be the expert on treatment. My ENT, despite being very, very good and knowledgeable, will be the first to admit that she is NOT an expert on cancer treatment and in all honesty, I don't need her to be. Let me know how it goes! Hi Arpityadav, My tongue was absolutely useless after not being used for eating several months. (except for talking) It amazing how it felt like it would never get back to normal. It did, about 3 months after treatment. How was your PET/CT? Lee
