This video inspires stained glass design and answers questions about installing glass windows. Visiting churches and cathedrals with stained glass can inspire new design ideas and provide insights into structural integrity.
(09:00-09:18). Consider incorporating values, rituals, and storytelling into stained glass art.

We are happy to help.
[14:21-16:05]
There were things that nobody told me a long time ago. It's like, I had a friend who wanted the old guys to show him how to make a bubble in the glass. They used to say, "How do you make a bubble in the glass, Pops?" And he'd say, "You just put your mouth on it and blow. Just put your mouth on the pipe and blow. And blow."
These guys were good at what they did but weren't giving away any of their secrets. They would even put hot sauce on the tips of the pipes to make it a little spicy for my friend when he tried to blow a bubble.
However, Barbara and I have some of his work in our collection now, and he's really a good glassblower. He's very talented and actually taught us how to blow glass.
So, what I'm trying to explain to you is that our channel isn't about who's better than who. Our channel is about me showing you techniques that can help you. You might even share something you've learned from me with your friends. If any of you learn something from me, I've done my job, and it's greatly appreciated.
I appreciate that you all tune in every Monday night at 7PM Eastern to learn from Barbara and me. I want you to know that I love every one of you. Let's keep learning together because there are no secrets.

Q. I'm getting a window commissioned for the side windows of a door. Should I use caulk or weather stripping between the glass and the wood frame?
A. If the exterior or the protective glass gets sealed, that's all you need. You can set the stained glass in from behind, secure it with molding, and not worry about it much.
[20:52-21:04]
Is it a double-pane window? You're going to sweat between it if you caulk the stained glass.
[21:05-21:53]
Don't caulk the stained glass windows in because you'll never get them out. If something happens, you will rip them apart. So the idea is to sally the outside protective glass thoroughly, make sure that you won't get any water in there, and then install your stained glass from behind, but allow air to move through it so that it doesn't sweat. Just put the wooden molding in.
[21:56-22:04]
I'm sorry. All I had to do was get an OK. Yeah, we've been going all day. It's wild today, so we just got in. It's a good kind of wild, and
[22:05-22:33]
Q. What size should I include rebar reinforcement in a Tiffany-style stained glass window?
A. Well, because Tiffany-style or Prairie-style windows have many vertical lines in their copper foil, I think I would also use the re-strip, at least the vertical lines, without knowing what the design looks like and at what size.
[22:33-22:54]
12 x 36, typically 3 square feet, is OK without reinforcing. But, over 3 square fees should be reinforced.
[22:54-23:23]
Before adding reinforcement, you can go 9 square feet for cane-built stained glass windows. You can go bigger, but it depends on the application where you're putting it. If you're putting it in a door, it doesn't matter if it's 16 by 20. It should be reinforced. If you're putting it in a bathroom window, and it's 12 by 36, and it's just going to hang there, I don't even know I would worry about reinforcing. Just make sure that the molding that holds it goes around it substantially.
