My uncle who was a LP used to tell me that even a third person inside a LOCO other than LP & ALP can drastically disturb their attention thereby leading to a high chance of missing cautions & signals. Their is a mandatory rest period of 8hrs for a pilot after the ride. They will be given the route 2 hrs before departure. Also they have to return home after the journey where they loose their sleeping time. Over all the loco pilot job is one of the toughest.

There is a officers movement in loco. Bcoz the LP and ALP working with proper rules. And follow all cautious in section. I think goods trains are best in my opinion. Because job safety first. That's the reason I want to book myself in freight. Don't want to book on passenger train.
