I've read through the bible i think four times and studied it a lot as a whole , but David is drawing it together again for me . I think its time to read it through again. God will doubtless use it . Often the day adter i learn something and its fresh in my mind He uses it for witness . Once someone asked me about Genesis the very day after i'd learnt it. He then became a Christian because it was his last question. That doesnt often happen , I'm usually just one of the links in someones chain. But they are all.necessary . K

I’m confused as to how anything can appear to be so old, as Jericho is supposed to be. According to the earlier talks, people have not been around that long, never mind being mature enough to built a city of that age⁉️

Bringing Lazarus back form the dead did not change the past - it changed the future If God could change the past do you not feel he would have corrected t actions of Adam and Eve who destroyed what God had created "and was good" ? Whether God can change the past OR not - GOD does not change what has happened - through his grace and mercy............ he provides a way out

It’s not a slip pf the tongue. Joshua 24:29 tells us how old Joshua was when he died. He was 110 years 👇👇 Now it came to pass after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being one hundred and ten years old. -Joshua 24 : 29 Its a mystery we don’t understand. He lived 120 years but died aged 110🤷‍♀️

Brother,,, When they try to date, it's as much guess work as it is science,,, There are no calendars going back that far u can just look at..and see its 10 000 years old. Dont let it upset you, beside most are atheists and will say or do anything to try and disprove it. I am 49. And I grew with the woolly mammoths changing from millions of years to thousands because they found a baby one frozen on in russia.. Haha

Mr Pawson is simply wrong here. He has quite a modern view on archaeology, and doesn't necessarily believe the earth was created 6,000 years ago. He is wrong on this, but I forgive him because he is a good and trustworthy teacher on the more important doctrines of our faith.

@@uptownlife42 They didn't have a calendar back then, but the Bible gives us the family tree from Adam with ages till Abraham. So you can calculate it. From Adam, 1946 years later Abraham was born. Almost 2000 years. From Abraham to Jesus is also about 2000 years old. That is year 1. 2000 years later it is the 21st century in which we now live. So that was about 6000 years ago. And the Jewish calendar counts back from the beginning. On their calendar it is now approximately around 5781. So also about 6000 years.

@@Scripture-Man. Yes he can be wrong because otherwise it is not correct. And if what he says is correct, I would like to know more about it. But forgive Mr Powson I certainly do !! I have great respect for Mr. Powson. He is the best Bible teacher I know. I learned most from him in my Christian life. Especially from the unlocking the Bible series. I don't blame him. I was just amazed at what I heard. And again if it is true I would like an explanation because I am curious about truth. Thanks for your comment.

Wonderful sermon. The only part I didn't like was when he started listing things which "God can't do". I totally disagree and I find this very small-minded! God CAN do all those things! God CAN lie! God CAN break a promise! God CAN change the past! He can do ANYTHING! He may not CHOOSE to, but He CAN do ANYTHING at all! Absolutely ANYTHING! One of the most important lessons that the Bible has taught me about YAHWEH is that there is no limit to His power. In fact, should any man try to place limitations upon Him, it is in His nature to deliberately exceed and break those limits, in order to confound expectations and PROVE that He cannot be challenged, He cannot be put in a box, He cannot be limited, and no man can ever get the upper hand over Him. He is the almighty YAHWEH who can do anything! Put simply, HE IS GOD. So man ought to be silent and fear Him.

Hi Lee this is Steve on behalf of David. Think and pray about this sometime - there are things GOD chooses not to do but there are also things GOD cannot do - GOD cannot do evil ..... if he could he would not be GOD. GOD is good and the opposite of evil, - GOD cannot sin, if he did he would not be GOD, - GOD could not forgive us had it not been for his Son who paid the price and died in our place. The penalty of sin is death. If GOD could forgive sinful man without the sacrifice of his Son Im sure he would have done without using Jesus to the pain of death - GOD cannot break his promises if he could then we would have no hope ..........And it's not just that he chooses not to - its fundamental to him being GOD and who GOD is....GOD cannot break his covenants or they would not be covenants - unbreakable promises I could not follow and believe in a GOD who ''could one day change his mind'' and choose not to love me.

@@DavidPawsonBahasaIndonesia Hello sir and thanks very much for your reply! Let me stress how much I love and respect Mr Pawson as a brother. He is the only teacher I wholeheartedly endorse to others. When I express points of disagreement, they are generally only trivial matters, for the sake of conversation, with brotherly affection. Regarding the issue of God's limitations, I really think that there is only a sublte difference between our viewpoints: Mr Pawson says our God "cannot" do these things (denoting a physical limitation), while I say our God "would not" do these things, denoting His nature and personality. It's only a minor distinction, and it makes no practical difference. But I truly see nothing in the Scripture telling us that there are things our God cannot do. The Bible says the opposite, that "with God, all things are possible". Could God forgive men without punishing His Son? I believe He _could_ if He wanted to, however, He would never do that because He is a _just_ God who must punish every last sin. If I were God myself, I would find it "impossible" to let any sin go unpunished - but that doesn't mean I would be physically _incapable_ of doing so! Likewise, I would find it "impossible" to murder, but that doesn't mean I'm not _able_ to. Perhaps that clarifies my position? My real point was just to laud and magnify our God, and to promote awe and fear at the greatness of His unlimited power and might. For example, prior to the Cross, one might have said it was "impossible" for any sinner to be truly forgiven and reconciled to God. But then God did the impossible, further defying any limitations man may have previously placed upon Him. His very name, YAHWEH, should evoke within us a fear of His all-surpassing greatness. That is really the only point I am trying to make here. Sir, while I have your attention (assuming you read this) I have been trying to get in touch with Mr Pawson's trustees regarding the wonderful paintings of Eugene Spiro which Mr Pawson is (or was) in possession of. Before he died, Mr Spiro had expressed a desire for his paintings to be seen by many Jews and Christians, and Mr Pawson had asked if anyone knew of a suitable place for them. I do know of a very worthy place where I would love the paintings to be reproduced. I would go into more details if I could speak privately?

BUT I DISAGREE WITH ONE THING HE MENTIONS HERE THAT WAS WRONG.....HE SAID THAT THEY FOUND JERICHO TO BE THE OLDEST OLDEST CITY IN TBE WORLD AND THAT IT WAS 8000 YEARS OLD....HOW COULD HE EVEN AGREE WITH THAT ?? WHY DIDN T HE CORRECT IT ?? OUR GOD CREATED THE EARTH 6 000 YEARS AGO ONLY .......SO HOW CAN JERICHO BEEN THE OLDEST ,BE 8000 YEARS OLD ?????...THERE IS NOTHING ON EARTH THAT IS CAN BE OLDER THEN 6000 YEARS......NOTHING .......SOMEONE DOESN T BELIEVES IN GODS CREATION !!!!!!
