Having watched a few dozen of these from both OT and NT, I think this is the most sublime lecture of the series I've seen so far. Truly "the keys" to unlocking the Bible. I pity those who imagine they understand the Bible and that think it is merely superstitious nonsense and fairy stories.

I started going through the Unlocking the OT series in June 2022, and for some reason began with Leviticus, Exodus and then carrying on in order. After reaching Malachi a few weeks ago, I've been going through the first seven talks on Genesis and have now reached this final one, the 60th study. What a journey it's been! I think these Genesis talks were perhaps recorded at a different time and later added in with the rest, so it's somehow worked perfectly to revisit these at the end. I can't put into words what an enriching blessing it's been to go through all sixty talks and feed on this overview of the whole OT. And this talk has been perfect to end on, with Joseph being such a clear representation of Jesus in the OT. Even though I have the 'Unlocking the Bible' book on my shelf, I have made notes all the way through while listening to help me absorb the info - probably a near-identical book when printed out! I shall soon embark on Unlocking the NT, and know it will be quite different, but equally enriching and challenging. Thank you to DP, and all involved, so much!

Daniel, in my opinion, is the model for John the Apostle. Both met the "He who looks like a man," and both were called by Him, "the beloved." Both got knocked out after hearing His voice, and was probably dead. Then the both of them got revived by His touch. ... Both got visions about the end times. Both sees the "Someone who looks like a Son of Man" get the Everlasting Kingdom from the Ancient of Days. ... Also the war. The "Son of Man" told the story about how He is going to wage war against the kings of the earth, and the archangel Mikhael is on His side. And there are seals in both stories, etc.

@DavidPawsonMinistry curious question. Could be that it's not accepted by rabbinical Judaism as it's not in the Torah and he isn't one of the prophets? That said and understood since it's mentioned severally in the Tanach, I read it as one would read a story/legend and i would say it was interesting and quite enlightening too.

Curious to ask: I have been wondering why did God make the Israeli under Jacob go to Egypt from Canaan and let them go through that 400 years of slavery, fightings and then entered into Canaan again since Gen 12: 4-6, Gen 13: 11-12 indicated that Abram had actually arrived and lived in Canaan already. In the video Unlocking the Old Testament Part 7 - Genesis 6, teacher David Pawson said: Timestamp 11:19 The answer is actually given to Abraham - years previously. Timestamp 11:26 God said to Abraham, I’ll have to leave your family in Egypt for four hundred years. Now David Pawson had answered my question in 11:08 God actually wanted his people in Egypt and this was how it happened. 11:14 Why should God want them in Egypt when he’d promised them the land of Israel, or the land of Canaan? 11:19 The answer is actually given to Abraham - years previously. 11:26 God said to Abraham, I’ll have to leave your family in Egypt for four hundred years 11:34 until the wickedness of the Amorites is complete. 11:41 In other words, God would not let them take the promised land from those living in it 11:46 until those living in it became so dreadful that they had forfeited their right to their 11:53 lives, never mind their land. So God is a moral God; he wouldn’t just push people out and push his own people in. 12:00 It was only when the inhabitants became so dreadful - and archaeology has revealed how 12:06 dreadful. Venereal diseases were everywhere in the land of Canaan. They were corrupt, they were decadent, and it was only when they reached the point of 12:16 no return that God said, now you can have their land. So, any complaint about God's injustice in giving that land to the Jews is quite mistaken, 12:28 but he had to keep them out of the land until the state of the people in that land was so bad that being pushed out of it was just judgment. Please advise if I am able to get the "Daily Bible " by Prof LaGard Prof of Law Pepperdine University through your office.

I find it interesting the rivalry between Joseph and Judah. David points out the sin of Judah right in the middle of Joseph's story. Joseph was given the birthright, but Judah became the tribe of the Kings. Often all through the Old Testament there are verses in which Judah and Joseph (usually via Ephraim) are contrasted or in division. When Israel rebelled against Judah and formed a new nation, it was the tribes of Joseph who led the way.

Do you think the story of Judah was there so that when Jesus came from that tribe the people of that tribe wouldn't be raised up in pride by thinking their tribe was better. So that Jesus is further highlighted and receives all the glory. That just came to me as soon as david spoke about it at roughly 18:30.

This, as with all other videos that I have heard from David Pawson, is an excellent teaching. One point, however, needs to be set straight: David Pawsonsays says that God gave Himself the name Jehovah Jire (which many translate as "God Will Provide"), and neither did Abraham give Him this name as many believe. Instead, Abraham called the mountain on which he offered Isaac "Jehovah Jire", and 'Jire" has to do with "seeing" *not* "providing". Read the passage for yourself: "13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen" (Genesis 22:13-14). the fact that David Pawson missed this point is yet another reminder that "we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us" (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Joseph was NOT put in charge by the dad over his brothers. Pawson adds a lot to scripture. In fact even Joseph’s dad laughed at his vision
@DavidPawsonMinistry Жыл бұрын
This is the second comment you have posted today misquoting scripture and blaming David incorrectly Joseph’s Father was Jacob and Jacob at no time laughs at Joseph’s dream Firstly he rebukes him then in Gen 37:11 “His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.” Joseph’s Father did not dismiss the dream - he kept the matter in mind ……. I’m prepared to look at exactly what David does say by reading the transcript of this video but whether David says Joseph was put in charge ‘by his Father’ or not - Pharoh certainly put Joseph in charge of everyone who lived in Egypt at that time - when Joseph’s brothers first travelled to Egypt in search of food Genesis Chptr 42 - “they bowed down to him “ - they subjected themselves to him Gen Chapt 44 “What can we say to my Lord?” Judah replied. “What can we say? How can we prove our innocence? God has uncovered your servants’ guilt. We are now my Lord’s slaves” Are you questioning Joseph was put in charge of his brothers or is your question who put him in charge of his brothers ? If you are going to post on this channel then be accurate in quoting what the Bible says - who is adding to scripture ? Who was responsible for sin coming into the world ?…….. Eve? Rom 5:12. Is clear “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned“…….. one man And especially Rom5:11 “But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!” Romans 5:15 NIV

Jesus, the Ram, of God....try John 1.29 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!.....sounds like we have a dispute, here....or he and the text, that is...
@DavidPawsonMinistry3 жыл бұрын
In OT times - it is a 1 year old male lamb that is sacrificed for the atonement of sin - ie a RAM - by 1 year of age a lamb is not a baby as we often perceive it but a fully grown mature ram or ewe - its still called a lamb in the Bible Male lambs/rams become sexually mature at 4-6 months ...ram is just a reference to the sex of a lamb. When lambs grow old they dont become rams - they become sheep David specifically uses the word 'Ram' to note a sexually mature male lamb ......which is not in dispute to the Bible There are too many Christian images of Jesus is a helpless babe in a manger, the lamb of God is not a ''helpless baby''....... but a fully mature person who is coming back, not as a helpless babe but as a judge and to rule over all the nations
@philipbuckley7593 жыл бұрын
this speaker makes a deal out of the Ram, but the text keeps saying Lamb, even the ones that he refers to....in Revelation....Revelation 5:6, NIV: "Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth."
@DavidPawsonMinistry3 жыл бұрын
A male lamb becomes fully mature and can father other lambs at 6 month sold - The sacrificial Lamb is a 1 year old Ram. There is no contradiction in Ram and Lamb - but a mature Ram can be quite a handful - unlike a new born lamb which is why David emphasises this Lamb of God is ......Male and ......Mature

Not only does Jesus work as a carpenter before He starts His ministry, which literally is building things. Jesus is also called the "stone" which the builders rejected, has become the corner stone. Psalm 118:22 King James Version 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
