Truth is, I would have gotten skunked if it wasn’t for the radar. That’s what made the day so special. I am gaining confidence on what I am seeing on the screen. Thanks for the comment.

Well, it was certainly worth coming back to watch this video. Man, that is absolutely awesome I think I’m as happy for you as you are . And yes, I was thinking about the exact same song. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze in one. (that’s what she said.). Also, fortunately, I’ve never had anyone tell me I needed a bigger bolt…. You are the man Dan, I hope that puts you guys on the fish every time you go out not to mention being able to track the storms and stay safe. Hope you are both well and get plenty of enjoyment out of the new radar system. Micky

Congrats on the new radar. I have a similar Simrad setup and was wondering if you could do another video showing more of you using the bird radar. We would be most grateful. 🙏 Like you said there are not many videos out there and would love to see it from your point of view. It would probably get alot of views over time too since there are not any videos showing bird marks on the radar. I love my radar primarily because of how safe i feel coming in at night but would love to use it more for birds. I usually just switch to bird mode and hope for the best but not much luck. If you do get a chance to do more in depth bird radar video that would be great. If not thats ok I'll still be watching all your videos. Love them all. Thanks again for all the content on this channel. Entertaining, informative and therapeutic! 👍

Capt. Dan you're a gooderer person than me. After spending that kind of money on a radar, I would want a completely new product, not one that looked like it was possibly returned or refurbished. I'm surprised Simrad did that to you. I have the Garmin version and have used it here and there. It's interesting that you need another module to do an overlay. Have you checked the modes on your chart plotter to enable the overlay? The radar is already earning its keep. It's a very good asset to have. Regarding that sunk sailboat, I would mark it on the plotter as a hazardous waypoint until it has been moved. I've done that a few times. Enjoy that sashimi and poké bowls. All the best for the season and the upcoming 2025 year. Cheers 🥃

It's a great asset to have for sure and we have learned a lot using it. I am def going to mark that hazard next time out. Hope FWC removes it soon. Thanks for watching!

I would’ve definitely wrote back to the company that sent you that radar system if it was opened and returned or damaging they sent you that product that is a really bad thing so I’m glad I got Garmin because I would’ve sent the whole system back. Have they done that to meanyway congratulations with your channel. I love your channel. You and your wife are great. Love you both.

Thanks for the kind words and support! I may have overemphasized the condition of the array when I opened it. It wasn’t damaged but had a scratch on it. Not enough to return it. Glad you enjoy the channel. Thanks for being a loyal subscriber!

Nice radar there! If you want to get your Radar/Chart Overlay you will need to add in a heading sensor. Via a Simrad GPS Heading Sensor GS25 GPS Antenna or a Precision-9 Compass especially if you want to upgrade to a auto pilot system!
@FloridaFishingCoupleКүн бұрын
Thanks for the tips - not sure if the GS25 will do what we need it to do. The precision 9 is pretty expensive though. Which do you recommend?
@shawnyorkovitch918722 сағат бұрын
@@FloridaFishingCouple So it depends, if you ever want to install in at any point in the future a Simrad autopilot system, one of the required components of that system is the Precision -9 Compass. If not and just want your radar overlay to work you can just use the Simrad GS 25 GPS/Heading Sensor. " Unlike other position-only antennas, the GS25 provides magnetic heading for accurate boat direction at any speed and for radar/chart overlay." www.simrad-yachting.com/simrad/type/accessories/sensors/gps-antenna-simrad-gs-25-module-pack-c4a8c3f8/#prl_specifications

Dan , I dont want to be a jerk but ,Your talking SIMRAD Radar all over the place but your not showing the screen, it makes me wonder if it is all you say it is, or is it giving you a hard time . . .
@FloridaFishingCoupleКүн бұрын
No, it is exactly as I described, I had a hard time driving the boat, working the rods, and filming at the same time, not to mention the glare on the screen when I tried to show it. Truth is, you would not have been able to see the small red dots on the screen representing birds anyway.
