Averaging up doesn’t mean you are overpaying…. I struggle with this, I have a hard time adding if market price is well above my cost basis unless the position is tiny

I imagine he was extremely frugal, invested wisely, and had a lucrative job. Once I started focusing on my career and not dicking around it was shocking how much I could accumulate. Nowhere near $2m yet but it’s only been a few years and I started from almost literally nothing. If you start in college with this mindset it’s a MASSIVE step change.

Around 57:00 in the video. With all respect I slightly disagree here. I am surely not Howard Marks, but I would anytime stand my ground against every investment legend when it comes to my circle of competence and that's psychological stuff. This saying with the old, but not bold investors is in the best case coincidentally, but not a causation. Unfortunately a comment on KZbin is a terrible place for explaining where the misconception is, nevertheless I would finish with this: Why would someone dance with the devil? Aside from "being bloody stupid" the answer to this question is more important than the possible outcome after the dance. And it will also answer the question why the vast majority of us will never come close to be an investment legend. And this has nothing to do with the skills mentioned by Ian. Those skills are already one step further.

With stock filters now, it takes literally seconds, you’re correct. My top choices for potential 50x-100x names for the next 20-30 years are TSLA, FIGS, FVRR, PLTR, and RIVN.

Do people pay in order to show up in the podcast or do your team nominate who to talk next? I found little value relative to other episodes and it seems to me like someone is telling his personal life story. While it might be interesting for some, most of us I assume are not here to listen to this type of narrative.
