It took me 10 years of coffee drinking to finally admit that caffeine WAS the problem. I tried to control every variable and when I had a well oiled machine of good diet, adequate amounts of sleep, semen retention protocol, and healthy relationships, no matter how well everything else was going, as long as I was drinking coffee I found myself chronically tired, yawning (this is a huge indicator) and unable to maintain focus. After about a week of no coffee everything seems to be functioning in perfect form. It is like a miraculous shift and transformation of my entire being. I feel connected to my environment in ways that weren’t possible on caffeine. Unfortunately, like sexual addiction, caffeine addiction is a source of pleasure the public will not give up without resistance.

I can drink coffee then fall asleep after. Im a 30 year old Male it baffles my gf how easily i fall asleep. Litterally within 45 seconds to a minute from laying my head down i can be out. Dreams are vivid as well.

yes, i don't know why but recently when i drink coffee immediately in 5 min. I'm feeling sleepy and yawning like i need some deep sleep rather than feeling energy and boost.

I used to think caffeine was evil and I steered away from it for the first 20 years of my life. I actually found out that caffeine really helps a lot with my anxiety. Caffeine is great as long as you don't rely on it too much. Edit: try to avoid caffeine in the morning or late at night. A little bit of caffeine mid-day is a game changer for somebody that has ADHD like me.

This is not true to everyone with ADHD. I have ADHD, and coffee makes my ADHD way worse, even if I only drink one cup in the middle of the day. It raises my anxiety dramatically and prevents me from focusing. If I drink more than one cup, I get so overwhelmed by racing thoughts that I have to go lay down in a dark room and focus on my breathing not to go nuts.

I absolutely love coffee but even a very tiny bit of caffeine prevents me from sleeping well. One cup of decaf and I am dead tired the next day. My eyes are blinking and my heart rate feels weird. Same for dark chocolate. After years of struggling with caffeine, I ended up switching to chicoree, which tastes as good as coffee once you get used to it (it takes a few days), has 0 caffeine in it and provides a lot of the same “social benefits” as coffee. The only donwside is that it’s very rarely served in coffee shops :/.

you can't believe it until you try it. I am on day 9 of tapering using a blend of coffee and Teeccino herbal coffee, I'm almost at no coffee at all!

The reduction in sleep time is primarily caused by our crazy work schedules. When you work 80h weeks and have a family, you need to find time: You sleep 4h during weekdays.

90% of Americans are not working 80-hour weeks. They spend about 40 hours a week wasting time on their cell phone doing nothing. Usually late nights are best for that because there's privacy and that's what keeps people up these days

My experience is some times when I drink a lot (more than 4 cups BIG cups). That coffee in the same day makes me tired with the coffee next to me. I know of no one who share that effect.
