Lovely video essay! I have always been a huge fan of Scooby Doo and especially the live action films. It’s interesting how the original idea was to have them meet in school and fall into a mystery, because that’s the plot of the Cartoon Network prequel! I hope you keep making videos :)

Is there any way for us less fortunate people without family members pursuing film careers in college to read the official script? Also what deleted scenes from the special features did you find in the script?

I’ll continue looking, but last I saw it was only available with access to specific libraries and it had to be read within the school’s online browser…but if I do find a pdf…oh I WILL be sharing it!

@@stateofmoregon Ok, thank you. I got an e-card from the New York Library which had a film script program that had the Scooby Doo script. But it said "404 error" when I clicked it. :(

Here's what I've found! The New York Library has access via Alexander Street, and they only allow that service in person. The best way to get ahold of that shooting script seems to be finding someone whose school has access to their database (like I did), because their site advertises a free trial that is seemingly inaccessible: search.alexanderstreet.com/preview/work/bibliographic_entity%7Cbibliographic_details%7C2958339 If you're looking for one of the earlier drafts, the James Gunn draft circa 2000 is here: archive.org/details/scooby-doo-james-gunn/page/106/mode/2up And here's the original Craig Titley script: drive.google.com/file/d/1lwA4JJ9vnNK8d0qRycxW76l3YVMNPCxM/view I'm going to see if I can convince my school's library to acquire a copy of it, but I'm not super optimistic. I also didn't realize I left some questions unanswered! From what I remember, all the "deleted scenes" from the special features on the DVD were in the original shooting script, plus I think a couple others, and then the scenes that were "redacted" prior to shooting beginning. I hope some of this helps, happy researching!
