I remember sitting reading, We're all doing Time," By Bo Loze. He taught meditation in state prisons. Anyway, what clicked inside me was the realization that I wanted to minimilize everything. Simplify. It took 9 years. I was married with kids at 39. I'm 67 now. Simplicity is the key note to a good life.

Great overall advice and I agree you need to be in a position in life to take on a pet, however I'm certain my dog doesn't feel 'tortured' I don't have him for a 'look' but for companionship. Animals do tie us down but to me it's worth it. I have money and my boy has a big house and garden to run around in and my uncle to come round and look after him when I work so he's not on his own. This is one happy, healthy little dog 🐕. I do see too many people take on pets when their situation isn't well suited to it, so yes it can be a problem to some.

So no worries and misery’s for both party, dogs are free they can go everywhere and they love the people who feed on them at the same time they are good security in our house, they keep barking if the see some strangers..ultimately we no burdens on them in fact we work together as long we give them food they keep watch our house and the cat always chasing rats who destroyed our clothes.

In 1845 young man named Henry David Thoreau built a cabin in the woods next to Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts,US. He experimented with simple living which gave him a lot of peace, pleasure and wisdom, whilst everybody around him was being swept away with their ego's. His conclusion was : "Simplicity, Simplicity ,Simplicity" Did we learn from him? 176 years later Mr Jon Jandai has discovered this and is telling the world. We would not be in the mess that we're in now if we had listened to Henry D Thoreau. This may our last chance!

Man... life is so confusing. I know exactly what I need to do in order to improve it. Meditation is the most important thing, then staying healthy, and then working on my business since I plan on buying land when I'm old enough. What I don't understand is why there's such a disconnect between my true desire and what my subconscious/ego wants. I feel like I'm just one realization away from changing my life for the better, but for now I just feel so confused because I just can't get myself to do what I want. I can't even get myself to meditate, exercise, or just anything positive.
@kellycoote71493 жыл бұрын
You are stuck because your conditioned mind is currently running your life, you just don’t realize it. That is the missing realization you have been seeking. Currently you have no true choice in your life, no free will. You are a slave to your mind’s conditioning. How to break free so you can live the life you desire? Awareness is the key that unlocks the door of your mental slavery. Become aware of the mind. There is the mind and here I am observing it. Think of the mind as an amazing problem solving toolbox that you can employ when you have a problem to solve, like a bionic supercomputer perhaps. When you have a problem to solve, you reach into this toolbox for the tools you need to solve the problem. Then, once the problem is solved, you set this toolbox down until the next problem is to be solved. The toolbox does not run your life. What’s left after you set your mind toolbox aside? Your freedom, your true desires and your ability to freely choose action to achieve those desires. Then, if you desire to meditate, you meditate. If you desire to be healthy you choose healthy food, exercise, relationships etc. If you desire to run a business then you run a business. If you desire to buy land then you buy land. Desire … action. Problem to solve … mind. Problem solved … set mind aside then desire … action. Like that. Be free.

Burdens are relative to what you equate them to.... Because my caring for those I love is no burden at all.... a burden is weighty; it holds you down.... It interrupts your peace and harmony.... it brings anxiety in your life; and Jesus says: " Be anxious for nothing....".... My pets relieve the burden in my life; they give me an opportunity to love and nurture... And, they live to love us back, sdo they do not get burdened by us; only when we ignore them, or don't include them... even in our tiny living spaces.....Not having pets is burdensome to me; I always feel that something is missing in my life without them..... being a good parent is not burdensome; it is right... to go that extra step to show your children that you care how they grow up, is something they will reward you for throughout their childhood and into their adulthood, and it will show up in their children's children.... The bible says to raise up a child in the way they should go, and all their days they will not depart from it... What a fabulous legacy to leave; when you show your children that they are worth it all....I agree that letting go of the "stuff"... You know, the stuff that is expensive and new one day; and old and junky the next... the stuff that is really not necessary.... the junk that takes up space and just becomes dust catchers.... now those are burdens... and so worth letting go of.....

God allows us to have children , to raise and care for to the best that we can , with want we have been given . Children need very little to be healthy and happy. Its the adults who force the expectations. They are not our property , they are given only to be raised and then let go.

@HideorEscape3 жыл бұрын
Well you have to constantly take care of them. It depends on the pet. The ones that you constantly have to keep them in your home can be a burden because you always have to look out of for them, worry for them that they won't escape and so on.. The best pets to have are the ones who are free, can be outside and can hunt. Having too many pets can also be a burden so there should be a balance. I myself have multiple cats and I let them be outside. I don't worry about them, they come home when they please and I do feed them. If they don't eat from me they will still be okay.
@theclumsyprepper3 жыл бұрын
@@HideorEscape people that don't have the time and space for pets obviously shouldn't have them because it's not fair on the animals. It's selfish to have a dog or cat locked in the house all day, cruel even. I also have a number of cats and a dog and while they are a responsibility they are never a burden. On the contrary, they are a joy to be around even though I worry about them a lot. To me it's the same like having kids, it's a lot of responsibility but should never be considered a burden or hindrance of any kind.
@HideorEscape3 жыл бұрын
@@theclumsyprepper Well yes, if they are well taken care of then they are not a burden. They are only a burden if they are suffering too. Pets should have freedom too and they won't leave home or abandon it, they will always come back if they feel that people care about them.
@theclumsyprepper3 жыл бұрын
@@HideorEscape my pets didn't abandon their former owners but were abandoned, few by the same person, so I have a rather tough stance on this matter as I've seen how sick, malnourished and neglected they were when they came into my yard. 5:00 pets >>> dogs. I used to have dogs and then decided not to have them anymore. I had 3 dogs; labrador, german shepherd, rottweiler (one at a time). I looked after them well, they brought so much joy into my life. At one point, I realized that, I got my dogs because I was seeking some fulfillment/joy/happiness. But then realized that I was merely trying to escape the pain of the daily rat race.I spent time walking my dog, feeding them the proper food (not canned dog food), send them to the vet when they get sick, wash them, clean their poo in the backyard. I added the time I spent; 1hr playing/walking with the dog, 15min preparing food, 30mins cleaning after them. An average of 10hrs a week/ 520hrs a year... Then I realized that, I could have spent those hours with the people I care about. I could have also spent those hours looking after/better myself instead. I think we unnecessarily bring pets into our lives as a form of distraction, stress relief, pleasure seeking or for companion. Yes, they are great companion because they will never correct you, or disagree with you. But then I realize that companion with family/friends/people (despite its complexity) is far better investment than a pet. Because a pet cannot help you out where it really matters in day to day emergencies; such as moving to a new house, looking after you when you're sick, give you a ride if your car is broken, lend you a tool for work, etc... Are pets a burden? Yes... by the definition that they take more from you than what they reciprocate to you.
