It is always ideal to have something higher thane level 4 or pair your level 3 with short courses especially in the field of work you want. A lot of people get jobs with short courses f done through reputable institutions

Hello, For N1 they require a grade 9 report I’m not familiar with Gauteng I’m based in Cape Town but I would advise that you go visit the campuses or check online which campuses offer the programme. Colleges are currently busy with walk in applications and registration , take with results grade 9 or 10, ID copies and proof of address all certified by SAPS… Good luck

so what about those who have received this ncv qualification in a certain field of study, can they disregard going to universities and apply for work with these qualifications if they choose to do so? or are they obliged to attend another 3 to 4 years in universities again, i'm jus curious to know about that cause i actually have an interest in studying civil engineering at a college instead of universities for certain reasons , yeah thats about it

Hi, students with NCV level 4 are eligable to work. Colleges assist level 4 students in work placement or internships for them to acquire work experience. University is for further education and training should you wish to apply for jobs that require Levels higher than level 4. However if you don’t want to study at a university after level 4 you can continue there studying a national N diploma in engineering studies.

Remember NCV is career focused so ideally you would proceed to qualifications in education or humanities. It depends on what you want to study.

Hi it all depends on the qualification you are applying for, ideally for fundamentals above 50 and above 70 for vocational subjects.

Hi, yes you are eligible to apply for NCV. You need your grade 9 report to apply. There’s an assessment that you will do that will determine if they accept to level 2 or not……

When I write my CV, under the education section do I have to include the grade 12 that I failed and the level 4 I have passed? Hi, you don’t need to include Grade 12, only the completed qualification only which is ncv level 4

Good-day I trust you are well I just wanted to find out can I change the field I’m studying after ncv level 2? I was forced to study in the engineering discipline after the institution I’m studying at delayed the release of my results hence me missing registration at a campus that offered what I wanted to study which is ICT. Will I be forced to re-do level 2 in ICT or will I be credited for level 3 in ICT?

NCV is for people without matric. Try nursing colleges near you they do offer courses for students who do not meet the minimum requirements at universities and make sure that the college is registered. Regarding educare you can contact the college and inform them you are no longer interested.

Hello, It will depend on the minimum requirements of the university or college. Rather find out first what you need in order to study nursing. I do think though that your level 4 subjects must be related to science. I would suggest that you do ncv primary health

I'm asking because in some institutions they reject NCV Level 4 and requires grade 12 only, i mean i lost a job because of that so that's why I'm asking. I've been advised to add a home language and combine the grade 12 home language and the NCV qualification. Is it possible to do so?

@@musammf3671 what I have noticed with majority of students I have dealt with is that they do not check the admission requirements, matriculants are also rejected if they do not meet the minimum admission requirements of the specific institution. As far as I know all public universities have included NCV level 4 with specific marks same as matric. Having a matric or ncv level 4 doesn’t guarantee admission you must meet the requirements. I would advise that you check if you meet the minimum admission requirements. I haven’t experienced anyone converting NCV to NSC I would suggest you find out from your nearest education dept.

My story is a bit different. After attaining level 4, i continued till i obtained N diploma but can't continue doing a degree at any varsity because they say they don't recognise a College National N Diploma as equivalent to a varsity Diploma. Then i lost my job last year october worked as a Civil engineer, because i had no matric but level 4, so they were retrenching everyone without a grade 12 certificate. What they said is "equivalent doesn't mean it is matric" and the level 4 in Civil Engineering channel me only on Civil Engineering Jobs, other work places requires matric or a level 4 for that field.

@@musammf3671 that’s shocking because a lot of places are looking for artisans these days more than anything. How were you good enough then for employment compared coupled with your experience. As far as I know the national N diploma is an NQF level 6 which is the same as a diploma from a university of technology however differences maybe the curriculum covered. Often universities tend to be difficult even when you come from a university of technology to a traditional university. Basically it all depends. With that being said please check out the advance diplomas that universities are currently offering those are suitable for individuals with a diploma wanting to further their studies as well the Recognition of Prior learning program which is designed for matured students with previous experience. Hi there… I am not sure if I understand your question, but what you need to understand is that each qualification of study had requirements that must be met that goes for matric students as well. Matric students choose specific streams of study and ncv students choose programmes which already are focused on a specific career path which means when studying further the qualification you wish to study for has to align with the stream or ncv program a person chose. For example a person with a commercial stream might not be able to do medicine or nursing.
