I loved Rossi and Gideon equally for different reasons. I think people hate Gideon because he “abandoned “ Reid when in reality he left because the job ate him up inside and he just couldn’t take it anymore.

With Strauss: I hated her until the episode where Morgan confronted her about her drinking. Making her an alcoholic gave her a new dynamic and made her seem more human, and tbh i loved that 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, season six is simultaneously my favorite and least favorite season of television overall. Like you said, the episodes like JJ and Coda and the whole Lauren arc are really high quality in terms of story line and cast features. It's just the reason that they existed at all that pisses me off to no end. Also, season 6 Reid hair is best Reid hair. By far.

Erin is a great character to have in a long term series. I love how they included more in-depth development of her character and going into detail with her relationships with each of the members of the team. Instead of keeping her as a mean and rude side character who pops up when they need internal drama for the team.

For Reid's hair, I'm torn between season 1 and season 3... Season 1 since it's baby Reid and I love how nerdy he looks. Season 3 since I just think that hairstyle fits MGG's features really well.

This isn't so much an unpopular opinion as it is a wish that'll never happen. I wish this final season would ditch the case-of-the-week format entirely and go with one serialized case through all 10 episodes. Let's be real, we get the formula by now, and when they try to weave more serialized stories wit unrelated cases (like the Reid prison arc), it can get a little wonky. So I say go all in with the singular storyline.

I 100% agree that Morgan and Garcia should never be a couple. Their relationship is very deeply platonic, and if goes beyond that, it will mess EVERYTHING up like it did in Snake Eyes when Garcia thought they 👉👌 (though that was a great episode and it was absolutely hilarious)

The Gideon hate is understandable imo because when he was on the show he seemed like he was above the team. The character just seemed to have that vibe about him, like everyone else there was just there to support him. So, I like the show better after he left.

this is gonna be a bit long, but i'll try my best, i agree, morgan and garcia shouldn't be a couple. alex blake was an amazing character, and she should get more love. the replicator arc was disappointing. they built it up to be this great thing, but it was honestly quite lackluster. season six, while it may be one of the worst, it wasn't terrible, plus the 'lauren' storyline was incredible. the only thing i don't quite agree on is the jason gideon thing. yes, i do like his character, but i happen to like david rossi more. gideon may have been a nice fit with the first few seasons and the crime aspect, i think rossi is a better fit with the cast. and finally, my favorite spencer hairstyle is probably season two or season nine through eleven, and i do miss the green screen portions. done!

I hated 13th step, but I think season 6 is one of the best seasons purely because of the Lauren storyline. That was the MOST COMPLICATED STORYLINE ON THE SHOW! It completely pitched us into a grey area morally, because like, Ian Doyle could be so sweet, and him and Emily (well, Lauren) during the flashbacks had an interesting relationship! But then it’s like, but he’s a terrorist, and murderer... it’s so complicated, and it didn’t have a cut and dry ending. Ian Doyle got away, and Emily had to die AGAIN (she died as Lauren in a car crash, remember?), and it took a looooooong time to get her back.

I TOTALLY agree with #3 the earlier seasons were shot WAY better and yes I like the grainy quality as well especially with the crime scenes. And the Derek and Penelope one I SO agree too! I think they should NEVER be a couple, I never thought that. It seemed more like a brother/sister or VERY close friend vibe and friendship.. I like other peoples options and while I don't agree with all of these I get where your coming from and hey if we ALL had the same options the world would be a very boring and pretty predictable place!

Team dynamic is better with Rossi. Because for better or for worse his character is bland and very by the book veteran character. Gideon is a genius veteran with his own little quirk. It feels like he's a weird genius like Reid but much older. I like Gideon as a character much more but Rossi is better for the team. Also Elle role as sympathetic character is still irreplaceable. Pressi can't replace her and JJ is close to it but not quite right

my unpopular opinion is Spencer is overrated. i feel like people only liked Spencer in the first place because of his looks and because of his looks, apparently anything he does is “sexy”. don’t get me wrong. i love Reid but...he’s arrogant and what makes me dislike him is everyone loves him as if none of the other characters exist and everyone always takes his side when he’s against somebody no matter what the situation was.

I completely disagree with that. While I’m very gay for spencer it wasn’t his looks that drew me in first. It was his intelligence and his awkwardness and knowing weird obscure facts because that’s been me my whole life. And I don’t think he’s arrogant, I can see why it could come across that way. I’ve had people think I’m being arrogant if I say something but I’m really not. I don’t try to flaunt my “intelligence”. In fact, I don’t think I’m that smart but others do. But you’re valid of course with your opinion. I just disagree lol.

The rest is fair. I would only disagree with Joe Mantegna being the weakest actor of the cast. It's the complete opposite to my opinion and I'll explain why: As the seasons passed, the writing has gotten weaker and weaker and the change of writers has lead to characters losing their vibe and becoming flatter. In other words there is no sparkle in them. Where is the arguing and snorting Emily? Where is Reid quirkness? Where is JJ's sweetness? OK they have reasoned that they got older and matured but that's not happening in reality. In reality people get more edges as they age, because it works for them, or they get the confidence, or stop being too self-consious, or even stop caring too much. Criminal Minds characters have gotten flat because the writers don't know them. The actors have no lines that are specifically written for the character in regards to words and expressions, no backstories, so they cannot support the character they play. The only character that has the same nerve as at the start is Rossi. Mantegna doesn't need the lines to support his role. It comes out straight in the way he carries himself, the way he stands, the way he talks. He can narrate a cake recipe and still convince you that he is David Rossi. The younger cast cannot do that.

7:41 omg...I suddenly rememberd the episode and cried for 2 minutes straight. And I totally agree with the first opinion, I loves Jason! I never really got why they hated it..I kind of didnt like Rossi at the beginning but I like him later on lol..but I did really like Gideon. And the cinematography in the first season was my favorite too! I really liked those parts especially that you mention about the green screen and so. I did really like season 5 of Spencer's hair lol..I dont think anybody else does..but my mother liked his hair in s5 too! And omg The Replicator made me so stressed back then lol. And Alex and Rossi; I actually thought they would be together at some point. I really liked Alex too~ And her relationship with Reid was so lovely. 13:22 and I always felt that weird too..a bit awkward to watch even haha.

But I do think that Gideon is waaaaaayyyyyyy better than Rossi and easily the best character on Criminal Minds. Something core was missede when he left. They neeed to get someone equally charasmatic to take over his role. Actually I dom´t know if you saw the show with Forest Whitiker as the main guy. I wish he had have replaced Gideon. Yea, totally, I really miss the whole greenscreen/backdrop theme. I was always really impressed whenever scenes like that were played, with Reid hovering behind the unsub while he scrawled down a list of people to kill in one episode (I don't quite remember) or the shot in "Extreme Agressor" where Gideon turns around to see the unsub stand up, as if caught by someone watching him, and take off. Those were really cleverly done and made the show seem far more interesting and eye-appealing. I agree about The Replicator plot as well. You're absolutely right. They hyped it up immensely, with bits scattered throughout the season, and it was really engaging and then all of a sudden - oh, it's just this dude I've never met before. Lovely. I really wish it had been Elle - that would have been amazing. I really dislike Elle's character, and always have, not necessarily because she's 'bad' so to speak, but because she's just so underwhelming. There's nothing interesting about her, and sure, she had the whole "Dad" plot but it felt like a very weak attempt at making her appealing, and just wasn't very well done at all. If she had come back as the Replicator, this spooky ass person stalking the team, her character would have been improved greatly. There's really just nothing likeable about 'good, righteous Elle' and by the time she left in the second season, it had been established that her moral failings overpower her few virtues. To make her interesting again you really HAVE to make her cruel in a sense, because bad Elle at this point is just more engaging than good Elle. With her as the Replicator, not only would it add to her character and take away from the arbitrary, lacklustre vibe the plot ended up having, but it would also make things feel more complete if that makes any sense. Just my thoughts!

Also, the guy that played Gideon quit the show. Love him all you want for the 1 1/2 seasons he was there. I always thought of Gideon as the grandfather who was also a genius. And that tries to coddle everyone on the team. Rossi is more of the cheerleader. "Kid, you make the call." "Let's go to my expensive house and I'll make you Italian food." It makes sense that Gideon would have more knowledge than Rossi. One stayed in law enforcement and the other went to get rich writing books.

i loved gideon but i think when he left and rossi came in there was a lot more comedy in it and more light hearted. i think gideon was too serious in an already very serious tv show, that’s why i love rossi. he was serious we he needed to be but also has comedic relief

I agree. I also felt like Gideon was kind of cold. Not like in the way that he didn't care, because he was very passionate about his job and his team, I just felt like he didn't express it as much. With Rossi its starts off that way but later they go to his house and eat dinner together and they feel more like a family, whereas Gideon is more like a mentor/teacher.

1)- tbh I liked both Gideon and Rossi but I liked Rossi more because I feel like the characters were all more natural when Rossi was on the show, and Gideon made things feel forced. 2)- Erin Srauss was logical but she was still far too bitchy. I agree with what you said about how the show looked in the early seasons but I feel like season 6 still had great feel too. 3)- I feel like Spencer is Hetero Sexual tbh since in the entire show he had ever only loved females and showed no signs of being bi but he could be Asexual though you never know. 4)- My favorite seasons were 5~7 so I don't really understand why people have issues with season 6 I don't like what happened in the cast in that particular season but it was good if you don't take that into account. 5)- The Morgan Garcia thing was just them being good friends I never once thought they were gonna be a couple but their chemistry added a nice feel to the show and a couple of laughs. 6)- The Replicator arc was cool it just felt like it had a half-assed ending to it though. 7)- tbh I may get hate for this but I didn't personally like Alex Blake I liked how she was on her seasons but I felt like some of the others before her were better character and story wise such as Elle and Prentess. 8)- The repetitiveness is understandable as that's how the FBI actually is they have a set agenda so of course they are always going to talk about the case on the way there, and of course the team leader would tell them where they would go before hand so they know who is tasked to doing what but as it is a show I feel like they could have switched things up to keep things fresh but if you look at it like it was real they were doing what actual agents would do. Please give me your opinions as well I don't mind constructive criticism.

Maybe unrealistic explanations but I thought the replicator was gonna be Doyle or Foyet one because they had both already stalked the team to a degree before, two because it felt almost like they were being mocked in a way and three because it would have been CRAZY to see that one of them was still alive, especially Doyle because someone (I think unless I'm thinking of another unsub) had said there was something unkillable about him and I thought they were setting something up with that line

I always thought that the reason why they take turns saying different things in the profile was because idk how to explain this but they talk about things that they have an understanding of or a speciality with like i know Reid always talks about geographical profiles and codes and ciphers and such cause thats what his speciality is and he can explain it better but i might just be alone in thinking this

I can agree with so many of these for example I like the way the earlier seasons were filmed better too. Another one is the replicator I was so disappointed I honestly expected for someone to get hurt and or die I didn't expect for it to just be a random man that nobody knows or cares about. All procedural TV shows are repetitive. It's the "crime of the week". Has to be wrapped up in an hour. Yes, you can have a relationships arc over multiple shows. Or a "monster of the season" over multiple episodes. But you can't spend much time on it. There is a criminal that needs to be captured before the end credits.

I think Reid is a very affection starved person and he doesn’t like to be physically intimate with people unless he’s comfortable with them. After he knows them he shows physical affection actually a lot if u watch. I feel like people confuse his apprehensive approach to physical affection gets mistaken as him not being sexually attracted to people even when he has displayed his attraction to others openly in the show. I think he is a bisexual who is nervous about initial physical contact

As an asexual, I always thought I was kinda projecting on Reid! I'm glad someone actually agrees with me. He's tongue-tied around people, sure, but it's never in "thirsty" situations. The definition of asexual is just whether or not you experience sexual attraction, not your libido or interest. He could even be biromantic asexual and it would still fit.

I am going to agree with you on your last opinion but I do love 💕 the jet. I never liked Strauss because I didn’t like how she was breaking the team apart. I don’t like the team getting stalked. Thank God Strauss get killed off the show. One thing I love about her is how she cared about the team when she was talking to Hotch. She protecting them is amazing 💫! I agree strongly with the replicator. However, Alex Blake had a similar problem that you can see in doctor who and Clara. She's too good. It might not seem like a problem, but it is. Alex is too good and too smart. Remember when we first meet Rossi? He's this great profiler, we know this because he started it all, but when he comes on to the scene he has problems and Hotch actually has to tell this seasoned profiler how to act in a team. It's the same with all of the characters. They are amazing, but they have personal issues that levels them. And I never really got that with Alex. She was just fantastic at almost everything and even when she wasn't, she still kind off was. It's a weird thing to react to, but one of the greatest ways to evolve a character (in my opionion) is having them screw up or having a clash betweeen characters. Reid in elephants memory, Garcia marking the cases that caused her to later get shot, Reid and JJ when the team finds out Emily's still alive and the first episode with Rossi is just a few examples. And I know we had the Alex and Erin (sort of) drama, but the thing is - that played out as entirely Erins fault. With that said, a lot ot the things you said I agree on. I loved Gideon (However, I do think Rossi was a great addition once Gideon left) and I don't think Garcia and Derek should have been a couple.

I'm one of the few people who doesn't think the first season was all that great really it had good episodes and building blocks don't get me wrong but I feel like Gideon did sort of hog the development that first season and he certainly had his jerk moments in the next one. so while I don't hate him I do see why some fans might be frustrated by him.

I don’t think they ever intended Reid and still don’t, intend on Reid being asexual. I think it’s always been simply a part of his Asperger’s his awkwardness and apparent disinterest. Yes, Asperger’s individuals can be of various sexualities, but I think Lila and JJ in season 1 were meant to “confirm” his heterosexuality, or bisexuality at least. Somewhere down the line this continuous apparent disinterest leads everyone to believe he’s asexual. I think the writers always just viewed it as a quirk. If this new woman is to be his girlfriend, I don’t think it would be a “U-turn” on his sexuality, just their lack of understanding has led some to interpret the depiction that way. Which is fine if you want to, but I still think it never has been their intension to make him asexual.

Didn't agree with with some of the stuff she said but she was never rude about she never sad those who disagree with her are worng and she apologize many times so I have no issues with her I one have issues if she was rude about it or if she said some bad about Spencer (cant help it I love him) or something nice about Linda Barnes (cant help it I HATE her) but she did do any of them so I have no problem with her or her opinions.

Honestly the only problem that I have with gideon is that I feel like when he was on the team was Gideon and the BAU, like he was the brain of it,the main one,and the others ones are there just to help him,and when it's with rossi it's more like a team work really,but idk that's just my opinion or take in it...

With Gideon it was more interesting. Also each character had a special skill back then. Rossi is just there

Yes Gideon made the show interesting and intense. S1 & S2 had a different intriguing feel because of Gideon and Elle. I wish the show had continued with the same style after they left instead of making it a forced comedy with brutal crimes.
