*Unpopular Opinion* : black men have it so much easier in the music industry. You can say that they're all categorized as rappers but look at people like Khalid, The Weeknd, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, Childish Gambino, Trey Songs, Jason Derulo, Usher, Miguel, Jeremih, and even Chris Brown. Have you even seen an ambiguous black man in the scenes besides Drake and Tyga? Now seriously think about all of the unambiguous black women we have...Someone name at least three and they *have* to have had the same exact success as these men mentioned. We seriously had to start a movement for normani and this is disturbing.
@isharamsi25955 жыл бұрын
Miguel and Chris are also ambigious. Infact there are many ambigious and white men in that genre. However black men are still represented and most of them are the mainstream artists of that genre. That cant be said though when it comes to the women in rap, rng etc the majority that are represented in the mainstream media are either ambigious, mixed race etc.. There is barely any black BLACK representation there
@chesaliam75785 жыл бұрын
@UCXwUZyE3lV2xQZ5G1PwExSw Yeah, Chris Brown isn't seen as ambiguous to a lot of people though. But yeah, you're right there really isn't any balance when it comes to black women in mainstream media period. Black men are allowed to be black, and black women are usually replaced with ambiguous women. I agree, rap is male dominated anyway though.

You can tell this girl know nothing about Lil kim and is just making generalized statements.. Lil kim definitely paved the way for almost every female artist nowadays.. that what makes her the Queen of Rap.. Everything lil kim had to go through getting bashed, companies banning her music, and etc.. She crawled so these new chicks can walk ...

I think Ariana is low-key pandering. In the song with 2 chains, I thought she was a black woman until I realized it was her.

True, she speaks a lot of facts, but she's also very hypocritical. A lot of the facts she spews applies to herself as well.

I agree with Cupcakke topic, her music is too No. With the moaning, the lyrics, and the sexually undertones, it just Eh. Same with Doja, I love a few of her songs but her song is not radio type to listen.

With Lil Kim being physically abused to the point of surgery and verbally abused probably lead to some bad deep depression and for someone like her to drastically change skin color persay could be Body Dysmorphia I'm which, I don't fully know the extent but everyone psychologically is different when it comes to surgery or changing themselves. There isn't a time limit to really overcome years to decades of being abused. Those happen to be scars emotionally some people keep for a long while. Just an open mind to that, biopsychosocial elements lead to all kinds of behavior even surgery.

I think little Kim definitely paved the way for putting female rappers more on the map. Most considered her the queen of rap. If u asked the last few decades of female rappers who were they inspiration and they would 9/10 say Lil Kim. Just like R&B singers 9/10 say Michael Jackson. Lil Kim has her problems, but she did open doors. Female rappers aspired to have her success.
