So they sat her with me and got the manageer involved. She thought she was gonna get a free meal but all she got was an apology. They order anyway and when I handed them the check THE LADY THREW A ZIOSK (the little tablet thing they have on the tables you can pay your bill on) AT ME! IT HIT ME IN THE LEG AND SHE STARTED YELLING AND CUSSING ME BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LIKE HOW I HANDED THEM THE RECEIPT?!? Then when she got up (they didn't pay) she smashed another customer's phone that was charging on the server station thinking it was mine. The police were called. It was a mess. Imo this its happening for different reasons: - She died super young,early 20s, leaving a lot of space for "what if.." - She was very beautiful,and cool effortlessly, great style,talent ofc etc. And many artists,girls,women even men try to recreate that - and she died in a horrible way (we humans as a whole, tend to be attracted to tragedy) on top of that there are conspiracies surrounding her death and life too. Plus the r.kelly stuff and the way her legacy has been handled... Idk I can see why people still discuss her a lot,even without this stuff she left a mark and will be remembered ❤ but yeah people exaggerate...

Someone brought up Sexy Red and I want to reiterate this… I have nothing whatsoever against Sexy Red. That said, I think we’d be in denial to insist that this doesn’t in fact affect black women as a whole. Think about all the tv shows, music etc you consumed growing up. When your friends in school made a joke that was racially inclined or when you think about the ideas you have of a particular group of people that you have never personally been exposed to, where does that information come from? The MEDIA. People in other countries think that alllll Americans are rich, why? The MEDIA. For example… people thinking at one point that all Africans were poor and lived in the slums. Where does that idea come from? People see commercials begging for help to feed the children and assume this is the life of all Africans. Point is, the media whether we like it or not, does indeed make us a monolith. When the media is the majority of the intel you get on a specific race/groups of people, especially if you have not experienced them personally, it in fact IS the representation. Non-black people who imitate shanaynay’s on Tik Tok do it because that’s what they see in the media, not because they have her as a neighbor next door. Nonetheless, I do agree that she should be allowed to do her thing. We don’t need to change people, we need to change minds. Downing these girls is definitely NOT the way to go. Doing that only aids in “their” agenda to prove that ghetto automatically equals all these negative connotations it truly does not. What we need is well rounded representation. Not just “classy” and not just “ghetto” but everything in between beginning to end. Balance is always key. “THEY” know this very well and is why I have to agree w/ the idea that the media is solely and purposefully pushing the “ghetto” agenda to make it seem like we all are this way. WE know ghetto doesn’t equal uneducated, but we have to understand that they know this will be the general (non-black) public assumption. P.s 🚨 Be careful not to be so self righteous that you completely blind yourself to the idea that in your attempt to negate these perceived falsehoods, you might be inadvertently perpetuating the very stereotypes you are fighting to disprove.

i think Toni Braxton doesn't have murials & a hollywood star in the street is because of the Reality Shows she's done with her sisters.. She is a legend but it happens often to celebrities who switch to artist to reality stars.. like Kenya Moore she was Miss USA & probably could've had a resurgence, but her being on RHOA hindered her... (Kenya is still an icon but just a quck example) , I think it could also be applied to Toni even though she wasn't problematic on the Braxton's her other family members had a few problematic moments so it looked bad on her.

She definitely cares. She keeps her off stage for the most sexual songs and stuff, finding something more age appropriate for her. Specifically the song of which she was in the music video when she was younger. As an Aaliyah fan, even though the situation with her uncle is utterly disgusting, and I don’t care for him at all, her music was gone for 20 whole years, and her fans struggled with the fact that her music was missing. When her music was finally released two years ago, it was a celebration and a relief, because we want her voice to be heard, as well as her music and legacy to be put out there to the new generation. It’s just what she deserves. So when it comes to streaming her music, I’m doing it for her.

Don’t listen to people who have no clue what they’re talking about. You getting a shot has nothing to do with your aunt. Everybody knows that the shot does not and is not supposed to prevent you from catching the virus, nor can it prevent you from spreading it to someone if you catch it. If your aunt is immune compromised, she needs to quarantine herself in the house and isolate herself from everyone if she’s so afraid of catching c19.

It’s wild that writers have a better chance publishing their work and becoming a best seller than making a livable wage writing for a tv show. This whole strike is exposing the smokes and mirrors of the industry. I wouldn’t have thought the writers were getting crumbs when it’s their ideas that end up on screen. Also I think eventually these streaming platforms will be just as expensive as a cable subscription. And at that point how can they justify not paying writers for their work which is on those streaming services
@uniartsssy5638 Жыл бұрын
This, and u know what I just learnt that is crazy, screen writers who write for shows/movies aren’t even allowed to be on set when shooting a scene. So they don’t even have a chance to see if what they wrote translates well when acted out. I agreed with tryoce until he said that part about the writers doing something wrong because of how shit writing for shows have been. But that’s the reason why, bc most of them don’t even see the scene until it’s officially release. Leading to cringe dialogues and god awful acting.
@Dreamergirl-lx5zb Жыл бұрын
@@uniartsssy5638 exactly! i think troyce wasnt trying to come for writers when he said shows are garbage these days so it doesnt make a good case for why writers should get paid. i think shows suck these days because hollywood is going broke and they dont want put the same amount of money on talent and production that they used to. also i think this whole agenda to make everything woke and rainbow also plays a factor. like these execs dont care what the regular person wants theyre there to push the agenda of the elite. the whole snow white controversy is a good example. the way these actors are so smug when talking about topics they dont understand thinking theyre coming across as woke and intelligent when they sound dumb as hell. shows are trash because stars dont want to be just actors or singers. they want to be influencers too and also gone are the days when hollywood actually sought out talent now its pretty much a modeling agency while also a nepotism club.

the issue with raising prices for streaming services is that the ceos of these companies are hoarding money. they do this while paying writers less and making us pay more. paying for multiple services sucks financially but if it means that the proper people are getting paid (writers) that’s more than fine with me imo. but, we see it goes into the pockets of higher ups. you can literally see something similar as this through the lens of any other sector

I'll tell ya that I loved The Game reboot on Paramount Plus WAY MORE than the BET revival of the series! Darn shame it was dropped after TWO seasons... I loved the dynamic of the third Brittany Pitts and Jamison were good co-leads for the new show in their Melanie/Derwin-like dynamic. Despite original characters like Malik & Tasha starring in the series, the show felt fresh and new so it wasn't completely flying off the success of the previous seasons. I was really disappointed to hear it was cancelled....

IMO nothing beats the first two seasons of the series on The CW. Season 3 wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the first two. Sadly, at that point CW was done with the series...the BET revival started off promising with Season 4, Season 5 was alright. Heck, even when Brandy first appeared it was good but then when Melanie and Derwin left I was done...@@Pookiebabymuva

My hot take For the plus size travelers: yes, the airlines have tiny seats. Most of us are uncomfortable. However, there has to be a cap on how large a passenger can be. Remember, if there is an emergency, the flight crew and other passengers may not be able to help someone who is 400+ pounds get off the plane during a water landing or if the plane catches fire. So a morbidly obese person can pose a safety risk to others during travel.
