Unraveling Mystery of $20m Airport Gold Heist ✈️ 🧱 Gone in a Blink:

There was a baffling airport gold heist worth $20 million in Toronto, Canada - and it looks like the crew got away clean. It’s a story of secret tunnels, high-finance, subterfuge and corruption. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with my investigation of this month’s perplexing score of a lifetime - a high-value shipment of gold and other assets that had just arrived on a flight from Switzerland. It was unloaded on the runway by Brink’s security. To get to a cargo holding facility, the Brink’s truck drove through a long tunnel beneath the runways as a secure shortcut to the other side of the airport. The tunnel is 560-metres long - that’s more than 1,800 feet. There is no public access, and it begins and ends inside the secure red zone of the airport. They took it to a cargo warehouse to clear customs.
Then the shipment disappeared. Just gone, gone, gone. Nothing suggests it was a stick-em-up robbery or strong-arm heist. Everything suggests it was an inside job. The shipment was destined for a large Canadian bank, I’m told TD Bank. Somehow, it made it out in the wrong hands. Someone needed to know ahead of time what was in the shipment and when and where it was landing. Someone needed a crew, resources, and huge balls to scoop it. Someone needed to gather resources to move it, dispose of it. That’s a lot of someones. One security expert I spoke with even suggested it might have required a fake Brink’s truck and fake guards in fake Brink’s uniforms. There’s a good chance the gold has already been melted down to thwart identification. Or already shipped out of the country.

This was a work of art worthy of Moriarty himself - a thing of beauty and no one was hurt except the insurance company. A fake Brinks truck would have required a delay of the real truck. This seems more subtle than that - perhaps fake employees in the loading dock crew. That's over 600 lbs of gold but perhaps much was in bonds or other financial instruments. The key would be to cause a delay of the real brinks truck, while on its way to the airport. Intercepting the call out from the brings truck to the airport would be the next step. Once that's in place, rolling up and loading up would be easy (with proper paperwork). Obviously there's insiders of some sort in order to know the ins and outs of how it runs. Could've been an ex employee planted a year or two back to figure out the routine and weaknesses. A heist like this wasn't done by your random thieves! Chances are, a few of the members have clean backgrounds

Wow. This is a completely different story than the one I originally heard. I believe yours. I've never known you to inaccurately report anything. What I first heard was that the stolen gold was unprocessed, mined gold and being shipped OUT of the country. They even commented that the thieves would have a difficult time getting rid off the gold because it was unprocessed. The report even said that mined gold was commonly stored at the airport. Bluntly, I thought that it was a stupid and unnecessary detail to report. It would just put airport workers at risk. I wish that I remembered which outlet was responsible. Our own Lufthansa heist. Imagine that. I'm looking forward to the movie.

I think what happened is that police were saying very little and so media interviewed various experts and analysts who guessed at what it could be for quick stories, and some of the guesses stuck as "facts." I went directly to those involved and peppered them with a ton of questions. There is still so much I don't know, but I think I managed to find out more than anyone else.
