I think the whole approach of "who is he talking to" is wrong. I believe you got it right with Castlemania, The Egypt Game etc. All of this were simply nods to every game they ever worked in, the whole path Mr. Mushroom travels is the path they traveled within game design. The Passing of Age is supposed to mean they were emabarking on a new project for a game, which is Silksong. I wouldn't be surprised if Silksong has Mr. Mushroom showing up in 8 spots...

Ahem, this would be more fit to True Pacifist. Their stats don't rise, and neither does their HP. Tools are not needed. The game is easy enough to get by with base stats, and you do not need a weapon to fight. To move on with pure determination, to repair your own soul with determination alone. Even RESET. That is what Mister Mushroom means. It is mainly Frisk's determination that will lead them to the end of this path.

He's saying that your skill and determination are more important for beating the game than your upgrades are. Since this is his final message I think it makes sense for him to adress the player or player character before flying off for good.

Obeida Waleed cycles have nothing to do with reusing characters though. The cycle is just the Flame dying and being relit.

@@alexhamilton7090 oh i meant cycle as a theme rather than the literal cycle within the lore, with every time the flame is linked the word gets more messed up because linking the flame and prolonging the age of fire is against the natural progression of the world, so the result of this oppression to nature manifests as stagnation, i see at as having a perfectly organized music playlist and then pressing the shuffle button and ruining it, all the songs are still there but the order makes no sense, there's no harmony so to speak, so when you link the flame for many many years (amount of years between ds1 & ds3) you eventually reach pure chaos which leads to vestiges of past ages to recur (remember the dreg heap/kiln of the flame in ds3?) this is what i meant by "theme of cycles" i understand the confusion because i didn't make the distinction clear in my comment, i hope this made sense though

@@aX0n777 Good way of looking at it, but imo they shouldn't have brought back so much from the first game no matter the reason. A few returning characters would be ok- it is a sequel after all- but there was no reason for Andre or Kirk to return. DS2 did the cycles theme right imo- thousands of years pass and the legends are forgotten, but certain things repeat all the same. DS3 just got too literal with it.

@@alexhamilton7090 i think ds3 did enough of a good job to stand on its own two feet, expanding the lore and tying up loose ends in a satisfying way while providing an actual happy ending to the series with Gael's story, let alone having the best version of the dark souls combat system, so the fan service for me feels like a bonus, but as i say that i can DEFINITELY understand why someone would dislike it, it serves no purpose in the main quest and it's kind of just there for the fans to see and say "yeah i remember that" some pple like it and some think they've gone too far with it, i can understand both sides.

so about conversation 5, mr mushroom mentions "going back up", "gathering, hunting, or wandering around aimlessly" and "things are getting too dangerous down here" i feel this might be a reference to pikmin 2 because, in pkmin 2 there are caves, and these caves, can get really dangerous the deeper you go, "going back up" may be a reference to the fact the in pikmin 2 the surface is a lot safer than the caves, "gathering" may be a reference to gathering treasures which you do a lot of in pikmin 2, "hunting" may reference to killing enemies to get more pikmin, and "wandering around aimlessly" may reference the fact that if youre playing the game for the first time, you dont know where all the reasures are, so what do you do? wander around aimlessly
