Hi Michał from Unreal Bucket here. Thank you Mike for making this video! It'll definitely help us with the beta. I'll cover some of the questions you mentioned and tell more about our plans for the future in a video soon.

My Prediction: Epic is going to buy that company within the year

Loving this plugin so far!!!

The real question is: can you implement your own assets to finally have a library functionality
@shapeshifterstudios8843 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Not Installing 8GB of data to get something like a static mesh or something very simple would go a long way in production.
@kloakovalimonada3 жыл бұрын
Right? It's mind-boggling to me there's no better asset management for Unreal.
@TrojanLube693 жыл бұрын
@@shapeshifterstudios884 yep this has been a problem for everyone. Myself, I have purchased over 450 assets which are about 2TB of data Is a pain for me.

Hi, it's actually our next big step for the project. We think it'll change the way people collaborate and share their work!
@aukehuys3 жыл бұрын
@@UnrealBucket this sounds great, nice! Is there any estimation when this feature will be available? Honestly, I am not interested in the other assets at all - just the functionality.
@thechronicgrump39063 жыл бұрын
We need modular building assets too, or maybe like a mesh generator, I really struggle with blender and I’d like to make my whole level in ue4 and have it look decent

So... is this like, another marketplace? Or....
@evening89903 жыл бұрын
This looks brilliant, agree with others, more interested in bringing in my own assets but certainly as an extension of marketplace will work great also.
@JamalBakari3 жыл бұрын
Another company/IP for Epic to buy. I see Epic using this plugin being modified to be able to connect to the marketplace and the vault. The have the money to do it, they need the right team to make it happen.

I can't agree with you more :) It's just the beginning for us!

It looks similar to BlenderKit Addon for Blender.

Are all of these very high quality models? Any mid-high poly models?
@DominikMorse3 жыл бұрын
All models are high quality AND optimized. In the creation process we deeply care about performance.

To avoid installing lots of things you wont use in your project, you can just install stuff in another project set up just for that, then use the migrate functionality to send them over to the real one.
@DominikMorse3 жыл бұрын
And... that's not reasonable amount of work.
@Joviex3 жыл бұрын
@@DominikMorse How is this reasonable? It is only for MP assets, not our own or locally sourced. Its literally, putting things into a filesystem or a manager system, the same thing -- i.e. sticking assets into a project and exporting them, working, verified and checked in software, prior to putting in a project. The workflow you poo-poo, is what we do in studios, and seems to be working for 40 years, not just game dev either.
@DominikMorse3 жыл бұрын
@@Joviex The feature of managing our own assets is currently in progress so this tool can be used as asset management easily. Please keep in mind that this is just a beta version that lacks this feature as far as I know. And the reason this approach is really bad (the move assets from project to project) it takes a lot of time, and there is a lot of space for errors. So why not to improve something that does not work properly? :)

Core Engine and Unreal are converging. This is becoming a designer and scripters dreamscape
@Joviex3 жыл бұрын
Core Engine? Core engine IS Unreal Engine. lol.
@brannonharris46423 жыл бұрын
@@Joviex core is built on top of unreal but provided a new style and workflow as a scripting artist. The style core is working with is definitely leaking over into the UE4 user experience. You good, bro?

@@brannonharris4642 I know what it is, I used it from Alpha. Its poor mans way of doing design work. Maybe in 20 years, like what SecondLife did for communication/interaction space -- that only took 20 years too.
@brannonharris46423 жыл бұрын
@@Joviex ah yeah. I actually agree that the social aspect and aim for Manticore is far from being a hit any time soon if at all. But the workflow is definitely going to catch on and gain some advanced features when applied in an environment like UE5

But with handmade assets! Some assets are better to be scanned and for those which are better handmade... there is the Bucket.
@krukhlis3 жыл бұрын
So it's another marketplace of UE assets. What are the benefits of this store vs Epic's own store? You can sell your assets with blueprints or C++ code via regular UE store. It's not a rocket science.
