America's Cowboy Kids: Bull Riding is described as the most dangerous organised sport in the world, but it’s one of the fastest growing sport in the US and a multimillion dollar business. Bulls are selectively being bred to be bigger and more aggressive than ever before.
Shaunagh Connaire went to meet the young cowboys, some starting at just six years old, in April 2015.

The one thing that struck me about this is how polite and grounded the kids are. Like Lance saving for college and never forgetting his manners. Whether you agree with the sport or not, these are some well-raised kids.

One of the problems is the big bulls for the little or beginning generation. When you get into pro events you live to get on the best buckers. I started at the age of 15 on mini bulls, got on about 9 of those and jumped head first into the big ones. 4 years later riding in some smaller pro events I love getting getting on bulls that buck, cuz if you stay on you pick up a big check, if you buck off it makes for a cool story

"Don't cry in the arena...." OMG! But, I understand these people. This is their culture. I would certainly never let my 7 year old or my 12 year old do something so dangerous, but then this isn't my culture. The Dad is a bit intense but the Lara family seem like a close family, doing something together that they all love.

I balled my eyes out but when it hit 15 i was walkin back to the buckin chutes. Its a way of life and you gotta want it to live it. Now im 18 buckin bulls in the CWRA

Funny how ppl think that their parents force them to ride but it’s just a thing for bull riders to want to beet the time and the bull if they choose to ride

I have to wonder if those young, young kids actually enjoy this. I used to ride horses when I was little and I began to not like it because I felt like I was being forced to do it. I'm riding again today, but it's because I WANT to.

I'd rather see these kids forced to ride bulls and sheep then be left alone on a dam cell phone / tablet nonstop .
