Thanks as always for a great review, Mike. I'm glad you mentioned the writing in the game. Was very entertained by it when watching Colin's playthrough. I'm kind of torn whether to dive in the new KS or not. The initial outlay is very high for me, but it looks such a good game!

Yeah, it’s a bit pricey if you go for it all, but man I’m happy to have this one personally, and I’m going for all the new stuff :)

I got so excited that I posted the link on the unsettled Facebook group. After two minutes I realised my mistake (I am a patreon and have early access) and deleted the post. Still: I am very sorry! I didn't need convincing to back this come tuesday, Colin already got me hooked, but thank you for the review, I love the short format.

Aw, not a big deal. Thanks for wanting to post it, and thanks for taking it back down until Tuesday :) And yeah, this game is great. Our podcast on it posted today, and Peter loves it too. That’s 3 for 3 among the OSCS team :)

Thanks for the 5 in 5 Mike. Really like the series. I had a question on the additional planets. Is there something that ties your progress through the various planets in the base game and beyond. Second question: Pertaining to the replayability aspect you mentioned. Is there a similar game to this that has some more replayability or perhaps a little combat? Though i realize from a story perspective replayability would contradict the great narrative nature. Thanks!
@OneStopCoopShop9 ай бұрын
For the first question, there is no campaign mode, so every planet and play is its own separate thing. As for your second question, I’d recommend some of the sci-fi dungeon crawlers. For example, rogue angels recently crowdfunded and has combat mixed with exploration

Hey Mike, any insight on playing this one solo vs multiplayer? Is the solo basically Multi-Handed, or true solo? Does it lose some charm? Or is it actually faster and better?
@OneStopCoopShop2 жыл бұрын
I've played it solo and 2-4 player. Like I mentioned in the review, the only possible drawback of multiplayer is that, with no hidden information, you could have alpha player issues. As for solo, I played with 2 characters and it works great. In the end it's really a big tactical puzzle of exploring and moving your people around and using abilities, so controlling 2 characters makes the puzzle even more interesting, but still not overwhelming in my experience. Colin has a bunch of plays on the channel showing off 2 character play, if you want to check them out.

I don't think you touched on the solo aspect. It seems like it can be solo'd by multi-handing, were you able to try that out? If you did, did you enjoy it? Thanks! Love your content as always!!
@EricWoning2 жыл бұрын
It's also how Colin played it. But as Mike already mentions - Coop is with total open information, so you're not really missing out on something by playing it solo
@OneStopCoopShop2 жыл бұрын
Solo was 100% fine for me. Like Eric said, it’s an open-information puzzle, so solo just means you have a bit more tactical load by yourself. I had fun with the puzzle if it all!

I think it's important that the KS version started out with 4 planets (for $90) - I understand retail is a different beast... but for KS backers I guess that we'd get the KS version+, not the retail version+ If not - I guess I'm not backing.
@OneStopCoopShop2 жыл бұрын
Yes, very interested to see how they price things in the new campaign. Hopefully there is a reasonable pledge level with a bunch of planets!
@EricWoning2 жыл бұрын
@@OneStopCoopShop agree... just released. As I'm from the UK if you start comparing....it basically is a price hike of 50%. Base + 4 planets + sleeves = $ 180, add 20% VAT = $216 vs $134 last time. Not to mention shipping on a separate xls because they don't want people to pin them down on what they quoted before.... I wanted to buy it but I can't really justify that. Too bad, but happy they made the decision easy for me.
