I actually changed my stance on this pen. I've fallen in love with this pen! It's the perfect pen to take to work and not feel bad about using it.

Love the idea. My disinterest, however, comes from the inability to use a better refill and the plastic parts. If Zebra truly made a metal pen it needs to be fully metal, then for sure I'll buy it. Not a disappointment, it's just not for me.

I ordered the G-750 from Zebra and I liked it enough I ordered 2 more. They only shipped 1, so I hope the other one shows up soon. The 0.7mm tip is smooth and writes well. My writing tip preference however, is towards the ultra fine tips. I did get the 0.5mm tip. I wish Zebra had an aftermarket 0.4 or 0.38mm available. I much prefer a longer pen in my hand when writing, despite the recent EDC trend for 5 inch or less pen lengths. The plastic threads are a non-issue for me. I have never broken or cracked a pen when writing, but to each their own. I really like shape, color, and the knurled section is a great feature in my opinion. You are right about the horizontal writing, I think a "ZEBRA GEL" stamp would have been more appropo to this pen. The red plastic button on the clicker....ehhh. Not sure about it, but it does add a bit of color, but not unobtrusively. Overall, I really like this new pen from Zebra.

The kanji on the plunger 🔴 button says *_ZEN_* (禅) which is one of Zebra's taglines. Nice touch, I love the pen. One of my new favorites.

Just got my G-750. Now, this is a knurling gripped pen I actually like! The section is smooth and not "rough" like I find with the Rotring 600. It's got nice weight to it. Anyone who prefers a more broader tip will be happy with the 0.7 mm refill. I could do without the "GEL" and "MED" wording at the end of the grip section; I don't see the necessity of it. The clip is tight, so it holds securely. I also purchased a G-350. Absolutely nothing distinctive about it. Anyone familiar with the Zebra Surari 300 will feel as though they've just bought another Surari; the styling of both pens is very similar.

My F-701’s clip got bent out of shape… that G-750 clip looks a little beefier - is it? Btw the 禅 kanji is “Zen” in Japanese, chosen perhaps as a sort of portmanteau for Z(ebra p)EN.

The front barrel for the G-750 fits flush onto the G-450 for those that do like a shorter (maybe lighter?) pen :-)

Great review!!! Thank you for doing it. I bought this pen off your review. I think I write too slow and small for the Zebra .7mm Gel. My go to is the Pilot G2 in .38mm, but I do like the metal weight and feel of this pen. The JK .5mm refill should fit, right? Do you think that would help? Thanks Buddy! Take care.

I like this one much more than my recent purchased Pentel Glide Write in metal. The 750 tip section reminds me of a spacecraft. Does the knurling grip on the 750 feel as sharp as the Rotring (it is a feature I dislike about the 600) or does it feel a bit smoother like what you find on the Uniball RE3 Biz? Was looking forward to this video. Thank you!

Yeah. Zebra is slow to get their stuff internationally. This happened with both the F-XMD and the X-701. It'll come eventually

The F 701 does have a plastic piece on the inside of the clicker. But you can switch it out with the one from the F 401 and it will be all metal then.

I have a G-750, it is a nice pen. I wrote with it for a week at work and was surprised that I had used appropriately 60% of the ink. I had ordered the JK 0.5 refill and I am glad I did. I also purchased TUL’s “fine writing solid metal barrel” pen. Really it is a tough decision on which one I like better. I have tried several different refills (without modifications) and for the G-750 nothing really stands out. I will be looking for more. The TUL however will accept refills from Sharpie S-gel, Papermate InkGel, Pentel Energel and of course TUL’s GL series retractable work in it as well. All these worked with no modifications needed.These are all the pens I had on hand to try out. I find myself switching back and forth between the G750 and the TUL.

Yeah, it's the combination of a small refill and gel ink. It's really not ideal but it writes pretty well considering

Going by an Amazon review, these refills are good substitutes. They need to be snipped a little shorter to work. No other modification required. Worked for me. Not the smoothest flow but acceptable: Pilot Acroball Ballpoint Pen Black Ink Refills, 0.7mm, BRFV-10F-B, Set of 6 (Japan import) [Komainu-Dou Original Package]. If anyone knows of a BETTER refill please let us know.

So, are the biro and gel refills interchangeable between a G-750 and an F-701? I feel there might be some people who want the more classic silver colour and round barrel, as well as the metal threads, of an F-701 but with a gel refill, inside and I think I might be one of them. I'm not really into the superfluous design affectations of the 750; the space ship nose cone, triangular barrel or, even, the 'sci-fi militaristic' looking font of the white 'G-750' against the black background. It sounds like me being a snobby design ponce but I think it is actually the design of the pen that's a little bit try-hard and poncey. Too many superfluous features with no real function just remind me of things like fake air intakes and fake exhausts on a car. I admit, I prefer modern designs; things that look like they were designed in the late 20th century: a Parker Flighter, a Fisher AG7, the F-701 or a Concord or SR-71 (to quote 2 things that aren't a pen). This pen is a bit too post-modern, for me. Fair play to anyone who likes it, though (it's no biggie) but, to me, it's as if it is trying to look hard. Like a tactical pen, or something they'd use on board the Nostromo, when it's not.

Excellent review as always! How would you compare the G-750 to the Sarasa Grand? Also, looks like the G-750/450 still only sold in US because Zebra USA is stubborn and ignoring international customers who would be interested. If someone were to purchase a lot of these, and then list them individually on eBay, etc for a small markup, would turn a small profit easily...

The sarasa and G-350 ink will run if it gets wet, the JK refills have check safe ink and does not run if it gets wet

Does anybody else have an issue with the button rattling around while writing? It bothers me how loose it is when it is clicked in. You can unscrew the button from the top and take it apart but I can't see any way to keep it from rattling

I have one, as well as a Rotring Rapid Pro (that I have a Parker Gel refill in anyway) and the two are really similar. Brass body, plastic threads, an unfortunate fact in both cases, rounded geometric body. If the 750 had the refill options the Rapid Pro did, it'd be an extremely compelling cheaper alternative, but I still find myself preferring the feel of the Zebra in my hand.

When i got mine the button kept getting stuck so i just put a drop of mineral oil and swapped out the spring for a stiffer one and now i love it but wasnt happy about the button in the beginning

G-450 has a texturized rubber grip whereas the G-750 has a metal knurled grip seen in the video. The G-750 grip fits flush onto the G-450 but not the other way around if that is something you're interested in!

The plastic threading kills me every time. One of my G-750 is already at the point where if I bend it too hard, for instance writing on a triplicate carbon form, it has popped out of thread, necessitating tightening it back up. It doesn’t speak well to continued reliability! I LOVE the design and exterior of the pen, but Zebra cut some corners here.

Interesting point about the carbon paper. I haven’t used that stuff in years but it definitely requires some pressure. Great example of there the plastic threads might fail (I was struggling to come up with one)

Has anyone here tried again to disassemble the knurled top ring (button retainer)? While writing fast, the button assembly rattles, distracts me. Think I can install a very fine rubber or silicone grommet and not distract from the aesthetics, but don't want to destroy it in the process.

These are trash. G2 is a better gel, but more importantly these all BREAK..you will click thr button and it will jsut stick, not retract. All 3 of mine did. Wont buy again.
