My mothers side of the family is from this part of Greece, their house is just 10 minutes south of Zaharo you actually show it on your map at 4:11. We would go visit my grandparents and aunts, uncles, cousins etc. for 2 months stretches back in 72-77-80. It was more farm life back then with sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens etc and plenty of grape vineyards, olive trees, orange trees and very large vegetable gardens, that vegetable garden was mostly for the family the rest was harvested for market. It was a wonderful place to spend a summer as a kid. The last time I was there was in 2017 only for 2 days unfortunately but the farm life for the most part is gone, some here and there but not like it used to be, but the beauty of the beaches and the wonderful people with their fantastic cuisine has remained.

I am glad you enjoyed the vid and it brought back those memories, I do love that area, and I am sure it has changed, but I think it is great that to date development has passed it buy and the area has maintained its authenticity.

Hit it out of the park again with another off-the-beaten-path gem. This is what makes this channel truly unique. Many thanks!

Thanks for a great video which brought back memories of an amazing visit to the area in 2021. We stayed in a lovely airbnb in Neochori (Mina Apartments), and I was gobsmacked by the beauty of the area beaches....and there were so few people, even in the middle of summer! If you like sandy beaches and sunsets, this is truly a hidden gem.

I need to go back and have a look at Kyparissia again, I went expecting a beach and seafront and that isnt Kyparissia as you know, so at the time I didn't do a vid, but I will return and look again!

Hi Andrew loved that coastline, we spent a week in that stretch from kalamata to Gialova back in 2019 and we'd love to return someday. Thanks for reminding us of that time.
