I really like the host's explanation. There's definitely cause for both penalties. If coach has a problem, they can be reminded that they should be happy they didn't get 30 yards.

UNS defiantly. UNR? Maybe. Depends on when the whistle was blown. It looks like a follow through block to me on a weak player. But I can understand why the debate. Carry on.

I agree. I dont think this is UNR because the blocker didnt know his runner was down yet. The blocker saw him cut behind him so he went to block more while the defender saw the runner down the whistle hadnt blown and blocker had no way of knowing. Defender has to learn you cant ease up just because you can see the runner is likely going down. On the other hand blocker gets an easy pancake but then no need for the taunting when the player had given up on the play.

No on UNR. Players is in front of him, it’s not blindside, its not enough for me. Football is a contact sport and defend yourself. If you get lazy, don’t look to the official for getting too relaxed. UNS … YES Him clapping is taunting that will likely lead to retaliation if a penalty isn’t given.

I would go with UNS on this one. Having two penalties for 30 yds on a play like this seems excessive. If I’m the Back Judge and I see this push happen just as the play is ending, I’m rushing in to make sure the defender doesn’t retaliate and that nothing gets out of hand. The clapping after is where we draw the line and we would inform the player and coach about this type of situation.

Great video. These actions need to be penalized. Don’t let your lizards become dragons

I'm sorry but I'm adding both. UNR and the UNS for the clap. He shoved after the play enough to put the player in white to the ground, then steps back and claps about his actions...No, that's both fouls
