[Untitled Goose Game] Back gardens todo list (Quickly!!) - an EASY method

Here's an easy method for completing the back garden level's todo (quickly!!) list in Untitled Goose Game! Not my usual content I know, but I got frustrated when I tried to do this when I first played through the game. There wasn't really a clear tutorial on how to do it so I decided to make one. More mania videos coming when I'm in my University holidays (and potentially more goose game tutorials if people find this one helpful). :)

the RNG doesn't let you have this smooth run consistently. I for some reason had to do the rose last every time or the man sees it then throws everything back.

Thanks for the guide, it's very helpful. Manage to complete it with a couple of tries, eg at the beginning, try to hon at the upper most site facing house direction so that the man doenst drop his newspaper. Secondly in the end when trying to do the washing, remember to drop the cut rose into well, so that the man doesnt notice it and come to lower area. There is all this small mistake that kill a lot of my time lol.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I still had to restart this level many, *many* times, but it helped me to have a procedure of how to go about things. This method is also very efficient and generous with how much time it saves, so there is some room for error. Some notes and tips I have: a) Don’t place items at the bust until the woman starts to fix the hedge, as she will notice that first. b) Do *not* honk while standing in place of the goose statue, as it will draw the man’s attention to the lower section of his backyard. c) If the NPCs are having a scuffle, let them go through the motions. This isn’t too bad, but near the end of my run the man noticed the rose and went to confront his neighbor about it. The only thing I had left to do was the vase, so I wasn’t worried about time, but he wouldn’t actually throw the vase over until he gave his neighborhood an earful first. (Which she would do immediately after.) d) Don’t rush, and do things in the exact order as the video. I made a lot of dumb mistakes by forgetting to do a step and would then struggle to control the AI when improvising. The biggest one is ever having the man go in the lower portion of his backyard. He will always notice if anything is in his fountain, and so it’s better just to reset at that point. At the beginning, after setting up the distraction, the man will get sidetracked if he notices you. Sometimes it’s not so bad - if, when he’s rounding the corner of the fence, he sees you, he will likely notice the broken fence that you walked in from and investigate that. You can still manage to get all of his items after he loses interest in you. Other times, especially if he hasn’t stood up yet to investigate, he will simply sit back down and continue his cycle. To avoid being noticed, I typically hide behind the hedge until he’s fully rounded the corner. Once again, thank you for this tutorial. It is immensely helpful and saved me a lot of pain and frustration.

The more time I spend as an annoying goose, the more I notice that some of these townspeople are jerks anyway. The shoplady willfully sells other peoples' belongings. The cricket player tosses ANYthing from his yard into the lady's yard, even if it isn't hers -- he's treating her back yard like it's his trash bin. The lady is always trying to peek into her neighbor's yard (rude!). The burly man ("publican's husband" in the game credits) could be helping his wife more up at the pub, but instead he's pretending that he's needed at the gate -- he's a lazy bum. Etc.

In my opinion, the Back Gardens was harder than the Pub, less RNG in the Pub.

- get clothing - cut rose - steal vase - steal clothing and get dress bust in - steal soap - move bust items - drawer - get goose away - if in tea cycle, do the bell - get dressed up with ribbon - allow the man to pull the ribbon off the goose neck immediately - steal slippers - wash clothing - make the man go barefoot - break the vase

I think you could save several seconds over this strat re: losing the ribbon by simply exiting to the left to have it caught in the hedge before heading back over to the man's yard. That way you don't have to wait to be seen, wait to have him take the ribbon, and wait to have him toss it over the fence.

Yeah you're right, additionally to save time over that if you're really trying to speedrun using this strat (rather than just get the QUICKLY!! achievement) you could probably just retry if the man isn't in the perfect reading / drinking cycle at the end for you to do it all without him ever seeing you wearing the ribbon at all

Thanks! The lady refused to dress the bust whilst anything was in her view on the other side of the fence (she desperately wanted her sock...). I had to remove the rose and chuck it in the water. Straight after she wanted to argue about her vase being broken. Yay. Then proceeded to attempt to fix it, so I came bsck in and she wanted to fix the fence instead. Then, I hid the vase pieces behind the bath and realigned the 2 last items for the bust and she soon forgot about the vase and dressed the bust, completing the list! Maybe 10 tries for me (some were nearly instant resets). I also found that sometimes when I honk at the beginning (after putting the ball down) that the lady is there and notices my honk, too. Then, the cycle is MUCH better, guaranteeing she will move up when I come to start moving the bus items/stealing clothes. Make sure to look out for the map drinking, he ruined it for me twice.

Doing this task and failing and resetting is the fricking most difficult and annoying thing I have ever done with a video game I have tried for 10 hours straight and I can’t do it It is so fricking frustrating The man is so dumb and he is so fast and he ruins all my plans and the lady is obsessed with fixing her fence so I have to go the long way out This is the most horrible task in this game I found the gardens quickly and the night street quickly so easy and I did them within a couple of attempts but I’ve spend hundreds of attempts on his one AND I HAVENT EVEN GOT CLOSE!!

If you honk when you're at the bottom of the garden, you have to run up behind him and honk behind him so that he investigates there instead of running all the way down to the bottom to investigate the honking he heard down there

Make sure you are clicking to actually "sit" in the spot. Or if the bow isn't in an "action" area she ignores it so make sure it doesn't wind up touching any side bricks... Or if the problem is that she never comes around to your area to see you, bring her paintbrush near your spot and drop it, before you "sit" in the posing spot. Or honk when she is very far away so that she walks around and wanders nearer to you...? Good luck

Hi, sorry for the late response. I'm sure you have found out the answer by now but just in case anybody else has the same question in mind: 6 minutes. You have 6 minutes after resetting a section before the bell rings. You can see how much time you have left on a yellow sticky note next to the "to do as well" section which shows how much time you have remaining before the bell rings.

You actually have 7 minutes, its just the sticky note rounds down, so if you still have 6 minutes and 50 seconds it will just say 6 minutes
