Love the muted C string on the E7 chord option especially for proximity purposes

Because your viewing public is all along the uku spectrum, the way you start with simplicity then work up to meatier variations displays a teaching method that resonates. All your stuff is stellar. Thanks

Somewhere along my guitar journey as a teenager I learned to get that 3-string bar with the pad of my ring finger for the "A major" shape (D on the uke), and that allowed me to bar that chord shape and move it around the neck. That can get kinda crampy on guitar, but on uke it's a much easier shape because the only other string to fret is the A string, which is pretty easy for the index finger to grab. This means I can move that whole shape around without having to mute that high string.

Thanks so much. This is the first time I have been to your channel, but I subscribed so I'll be back. I appreciated this video not only for what you taught about the dreaded E chord, but because I now understand a little more music theory. Thanks again!

I was following until the variations 😊 a few more viewings I think but thank you for the clever tip. E is (was!) one of my dreaded chords to play.

Yeah, the traditional E chord fingering is a bitch especially for beginners. Barring at the 4th fret and ring or pinkie on the 7th fret has a much nicer sound and easy to play. Slide the finger on the A string down to the 5th fret and that's an easy E7.
