TWO things I've learned from watching SO many of your videos ? The first is to keep your roof maintained because once it goes, your whole house starts to die with it. Also, DO NOT plant ivy anywhere near your house - it takes over, then comes through the windows, like a re-make of the old horror movie " Day of the Triffids" !!! :0

Wise words. I too will maintain my roof and not plant ivy at all on the property..it eventually would find the house even if I plant it a block away 😄

a quick look on google earth shows the property had a for sale sign out at the time of the google earth drive, which means that it has an owner or the estate was in probate and able to be sold by executor. These people shouldnt be going in here.

Adam, 2 very interesting points for you. If you looked carefully in the attic there should of been a temporary wooden cross (grave marker) for helen as she is the daughter (the girls bedroom you went into). Also the giant cricket bat in the attic actually belongs to a pub in london, well helen graduated University met her future husband John, moved to London and in their area was a local pub which was due to shut down, so helen and John bought it to keep the pub open, unfortunately though just shortly after helen past away suddenly. The pub is still being run to this day by john marklew (helens husband) an helens sister becky. The pub is called the bricklayers arms in putney. As for the house I'm guessing the parents moved out because they couldn't cope living there anymore with all the memories of there daughter, maybe that's why there is hardly any dust on things but they're just leaving it as it is. As for becky (helens sister) I don't know how come she didn't inherit the house, but a place that size would cost alot of money to repair and always keep maintained.

Mrs H ... I sometimes wonder if the family feel that they parents house is too expensive to fix up so they wait for someone to buy the land ...Sometimes family move abroad and life for them is busy which causes family bonds to be broken (Out of sight, Out of mind ) We in UK have elderly that are extremely lonely and forgotten about.. It's a sad fact of life...💔.. It's sad when you know that once this house was once full of life... The photo's are priceless memories that I can't understand why they are all left 😭💔

In the kitchens, I think what you kept calling brass is actually copper!! Very valuable because it looks solid. It is possible that the reason this house looks so perfect yet abandoned could be because the parents of the last generation that lived there outlived their children and grandchildren living in apartments with no place to bring large antique furniture and dishes and no money to restore a family home.

The government should auction it all off for different charities n do the house's up for those charities that help people and families in desperate need of housing thay could get the young n needy to do them up to live in rent free while they're looking for work n saving for rent and deposits for there first place to live then when thay got there self sorted move others in n teach the young to look after it n fix whatever needs doing that way thay have a roof over there heads n learning some sort of trade for when thay get there own place to live it will also teach the younger generations that not everything is given to them on a plate n give them a sense of self-worth when they walk through the front door n it looks nice thay can say I did that

Boomers rather than young people had everything handed to them on a plate. But it’s perfectly possible the children of the people who died not even that long ago (David Cameron book etc) just haven’t been able to let the house go or are righting over inheritance or wills weren’t clear etc. its possible they just didn’t care about the parents or like them or care about the inheritance. I totally agree no homes should be empty for more than a few years and forced to be sold etc but fair rented or used as council homes for all the young And old people out there who need homes regardless of being handed things on plates. Life isn’t about being a machine or a means of production

There is a connection between this house and The Bricklayers Arms in Putney London which was run by John and Helen Marklew. Helen tragically passed away in 2005 at the age of 41. The grave cross marker with plaque for Helen Marklew is in the attic of this house in Wales. I suspect this was a temporary grave marker until a headstone was put in place. The large cricket bat in the attic makes reference to The Bricklayers Arms.

That red wood of the staircase and the sideboard are mahogany. It was a lot less expensive than cherry, which it resembles, and won't decay as fast in humid climates. Whereas cherry is a hard wood, mahogany is softer. The furniture maker Duncan Phyffe made his furniture exclusively from mahogany and mahogany veneers. With age, it develops a beautiful patina, almost black.

TS 15:04 is the ever so dangerous point of hidden black mold. Usually never seen in this state. Black mold when left in an enclosed area, it grows a fuzzy cloud then the black spores start forming. If you inhale just 1 of the bits that are so delicately growing from within, you won'r realize it until certain organs start shutting down, exactly what they were. Rarely will you find that (what's in the cupboard) outside a petri dish in a laboratory. Please wear your masks when in black mold infested homes. All it takes is 1 small molecule to float into your nose or mouth and the outcome could be very sad, even deadly. So many nice abandoned homes and items inside worth a fortune in the U.S, all just going to waste. I suppose like many, no one wants to deal with what's been left to them. Rather just let it all be forgotten. I saved my family home an then sold it for nearly nothing. Acres of ground, a house that was perfect for any young couple. $3,500.00. Not because I'm wealthy but because the family I sold to had 4 kids and they were young. I gave them 1 year to make payments and they did. An they lived in it till they unfortunately both passed away right after the kids were out of the home. Help those in need and you'll reap the rewards❤

Wow. This is an amazing house. Absolutely beautiful. I think an elderly person lived and died there, and the family haven't taken any of the belongings. Maybe they're wealthy and don't need it, or maybe a dispute with the will, so it just sits there.. It seems so strange that people just leave things to rot away. But there's thousands of dollars worth of furniture etc just sitting there. Imagine what could be in that safe!? What a shame it's been left to decay. So beautiful. I hope no one goes in and ransacks the place. Great video Adam.

There was a brief scan of the staircase and you captured the reflection of the staircase in the mirror, that was really cool. The attic walls were very unique. Great explore. 👍

You always appreciate things in these properties Adam, you are a credit to your parents. You are very respectful and respect these places even though they are in such bad condition and abandoned for many years. This would have been a beautiful home at one time but sad to see it in such disrepair and all moldy. Thank you for showing us round ....

@8:30 that little box on the floor I believe is an old shoeshine box. The heavy handle would be where you rest your foot when shining you shoe. The side lifts open to store polish & brushes. 😉

Good one Adam! Maybe try to address musical instruments or machines by asking if they played the piano, gitar or did the sewing, or was it wife, sister, daughter... because those are things of passion and may have a strong connection

Just saying hi, from Texas. Came across your channel by accident, and will not leave until I've watched every single episode! Just to let you know, I used to take a shot every time you fussed about the spiders and webs, but had to stop -I was getting too drunk. Also, have you ever considered introducing yourself when you go into the house and letting them know upfront what you were doing? Ghosts were people once and you are going in the space they had when alive. Definitely not critiquing .. you are so very kind. Absolute fan of "bits and bobs" 😊

I really wish that you would show us around the grounds little more on the end pan out. It looked like they might’ve been a nice water fountain or something there. It would be nice to see if they’ve got a shed or a barn with some hidden gems in like a lovely car or something.
