Fun fact: In the original script for V3, Miu was actually going to play a bigger part in investigations by giving Shuichi inventions to help with the investigations up until her death. They were scrapped because Kodaka preferred her to be more of a comic relief character and only have the inventions in the final story and the Kiibo upgrades be used to showcase her talent.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves regarding V3. A lot of interesting characters who had more potential than the three survivors were wasted. I was really looking forward to getting to see how Rantaro, Kaede and Ryoma would do in the game... only to be disappointed when I found out that they were the first ones to die. And Kiibo, being a robot with a strong AI, I expected him to play a huge role throughout the ENTIRE story, only for me to see him not doing much until the final chapter where it's revealed that the reason why he survived for that long was because he was SO important to the plot all along 😐 Are you kidding me...?

*Ryoma/kokichi/tenko* I think they should’ve survived or survived longer (not including kokichi since he actually survived longer) I think *ryoma* should’ve got character development and actually had a good reason to live and stuff, but they gave that to himiko and honestly himiko is a shitty character. Himiko did nothing in the class trials and literally waited 3 chapters for her to actually get all that. Ryoma is an important part in chapter 1 because his theory was right. *Tenko* himiko almost died in the place of her but tenko saved her, tenko started to like shuichi and you already know she hates males, she honestly could’ve started getting character development and get along with males but the game straight up killed her off. *Kokichi* , yes I know his death gave him much more of his character but i think kokichi should’ve lived, why?? Because kokichi would’ve shown his true self to everyone in the last trial, and probably confessed his actual feelings. Kokichi was made to be a liar because it’s the games theme, honestly I possibly don’t think he would’ve been able to tell if tsumugi was lying or telling the truth. He would’ve had huge character development, and we could’ve seen his TRUE personality. *stuff* what shuichi said after tenko’s death (when you click her dorm) made me pretty sad, tenko always believed in himiko no matter what and himiko didn’t give a shit, what broke me is when he said *himiko isn’t as lazy and striving to live just as you wished but it had to take ur death* btw I’m not trying to say those 3 should’ve survived but I think one of them or all should’ve survived with more people

If I were to rewrite V3 I would have (off the top of my head. Protagonist- Kiibo -> Kaede Case one would stay the same but Kiibo dies instead. Imagine having a naegi reminiscent character die off especially if they are the protag. It could symbolize that this killing game Isn’t going to be the same as the rest. I would also have Shuichi die off in chapter 2 as a victim to Tsumugi. Tsumugi’s motive video could be her many fans around the world. (Her execution is fakes her death however because I still would like her to be the mastermind.) In chapter 3 I would have Angie either murder Himiko or Tenko and try to sway the student council to her favor with no avail. The second victim will be Korekiyo who is killed by Kirumi because of her motive video (which is the same). This adds a new aura of dread to the surviving cast because there is a killer among them with and actual good reason to kill. This could be where I kill off Miu (yep a triple murder) who Kaede and the others trace back to the Mastermind killing her. Why? Miu and Shuichi were working together to end the killing game, which is the real reason why Tsumugi killed him. She kills off Miu to tie up any loose ends. In chapter 4, I still think Gonta should be the culprit. As for the victim, anyone can work. Maybe not Kirumi because I have a plan for her in Chapter 5. I’ll add more to this later. Edit: I’m still not completely certain who to kill of in chapter 4 but I’m thinking of killing off Gonta himself because I would’ve changed the fourth motive a bit to where it works similar to how it does now but with the 4th motive (funhouse) in Danganronpa 2. In chapter 5, I’m thinking about the Kokichi’s plan being more or less the same but instead only Kaito dies. Let me explain! Remember that paint machine in the Hanger. That was used to fake their death. Kaito is executed (happens exactly the same) and Kokichi reappears and explains what happened and how they have the mastermind mind cornered now. Someone mentions that the mastermind won’t end the killing game because they technically didn’t break a rule because Kaito died of an illness and everyone (at first loses hope before Kaede reminds them that they are “Hope’s peak students”. Sometime during that chapter, one of the kirumi accidentally comes across the hidden entrance the bathroom, looking for extra cleaning supplies and is killed by Tsumugi. This time, every catches her still being alive and link her back to Rantaro’s death as well. Everything else basically happens the same. The survivors would be Kaede, Himiko (I decided that I liked the arc she had), Maki, Kokichi, and Ryoma (his arc could’ve been looking for new reasons to live via his new friends).
