Soldier "Now that was close" appears in a lot of fan animations. Medic "FREE MONEY!!" is so recognisable that even after hearing it once you remember it. The majority of the voice lines however seem to be so MvM specific that it's hard to use in other contexts

​@@rockowlgamer631it's really not that much better, if at all. the -75% minigun damage nerf was so that miniguns wouldn't be absolutely overpowered against tanks (we all already know how much single-target DPS Heavy can do against a giant at point-blank, so tanks wouldn't stand a chance without the nerf), and miniguns are not bad against tanks at all; only mediocre. a fully upgraded minigun will still outdamage any unupgraded Heavy melee against tanks.

For some reason Scout, Demoman, Sniper and Spy doesn't have any MvM related voice lines. Demoman is the one who surprises me more because Gary Schwartz is the voice of both Heavy and Demo but it seems Valve hired him to do Heavy's voice lines only.

@randomclouds4404 I know but i was talking about how the characters I mentioned doesn't have any MvM voice lines, even when you press F4 to tell you're ready Scout, Demo, Sniper and Spy only have default "Let's go" voice lines. Funny enough, every class have Halloween exclusive voice lines .

​@@Cysco8575VSH was a community-based update, meaning Valve had little to no input on it. That's the most likely reason, as some random guy with a week to make a polished game mode probably couldn't afford to find the VAs (especially engineers, since he's an actual actor)

I remember back in 2012 when MvM just came out, it was possible to “lose” a MvM match. I remember there being a server time limit, and if the timer ran out, any wave failed would result in the match ending and the server shutting down. Any wave failures before timer ran out would simply result in restarting the wave, as is the case today. That might have been what the voice lines were for, or perhaps something else.

I think I might know where thoses robot sapped lines where going to be used for. Unused in the game are various "Spy traps" canceled mvm only items meant for the Spy that where supposedly meant to be used for a canceled Spy vs Engineer uptate. One of thoses traps is the "Reprogrammer" wich turns robots RED. (Explaining the existance of RED robot textures in game) The hacked robots would have turned against their old alies for a short while before exploding, dealing damage to any nearby robots. Now, the voice lines themselves weren't going to be used for the Spytrap, but there is some evidence, albeit very small (the uptate page that introduced the mvm and the powerup canteens) that seems to indicate there was going to be some kind of Robot sapping canteen that was once planned. Prehaps the idea of hacking robots and convert them to RED was once planned as a canteen, hence the existance of theses lines, then maybe was going to be reused for the Spytrap only to get canceled for good.
