Beautiful work! Your client is an excellent designer and your work is flawless. I like your design for the router flattening sled. It’s nice to see one that’s effective and not so ridiculously over engineered lol.

I know what you mean. I have a few sleds that took longer to make than the project I needed them for. I’m definitely on the hunt for simpler sled designs. This project was a great collaboration and I think I might enlist this client in the future if I ever run out of ideas. Thanks for watching!

I just watched your video and noticed that you had your push block at almost vertical angle at the jointer. If you cut a little rubber strip off going across the heel of the block and sand to bare plastic, then epoxy a small foot about 1/4 to 3/8 inch high. Hooking the foot over the end of the board makes it easy to push through the jointer. I use them a lot (just a thought). I do like your videos. 😀👍

I love this suggestion! I definitely struggle with wide boards especially as they get flat and start to almost suction to the jointer bed. I’ve also seen people use their tablesaw push stick with a heel. Thanks for watching and for leaving a fantastic tip!

I just found your channel... and loved the way you were able to take some else's design and figure out the way to build it....i think only thing different i would do is add a cross piece bestrewn the stand uprights... great job

For the stands of the cutting board I think you could attach a small chain between them or small magnets so that they wouldn't lose and for the coasters jus make a small enclosed wooden container , probably with the same offcuts jus to keep them organized.......anyway jus a suggestion .......the board is phenomenal and looking great and truly a piece of art!!!!!...... cheers from India and looking forward to watch new videos ......byeeee😀😊👍🏻👍🏻
@FireflyWoodworking Жыл бұрын
Great suggestions! I thought about attaching like a dowel between the stands but I thought it would be too rigid, but a chain is brilliant! The client and I originally talked about a box to hold the coasters but decided against it. But I love that idea too! Maybe 3 sided?!? Thanks for all the thoughtful input and for watching.

Which model is your Sawstop? Looks like it's a PCS, but did you go with the 1.75 or 3HP? Also, another great build!
@FireflyWoodworking Жыл бұрын
It’s the Industrial Cabinet Saw 10” 5hp 1 phase 230v. I got the 52” T glide fence and the sliding crosscut table attachment. It’s been an amazing upgrade to my shop.

Be careful of your fingers when shaping small pieces like the stand. It looked as if you came quite close to the cutter and if it catches in the wood it will fling the piece across the shop and your fingers could easily go into the cutter. End product and the video very good.
