Located in Warsaw old town square I go for a walk around to discover what the capital and largest city of Poland is all about. I come across a selection of traditional Polish restaurants and so much beautiful architecture and colourful buildings in the surrounding area and this place has such a good vibe.

Polish soup in bread is called Żurek. This is a traditional soup for Easter. In Lodz, we add sausage, potatoes and mushrooms to sourdough and this soup is called Zalewajka. This is a soup that was created in Łódź to make dinner for the hungry and poor from products that can be bought cheaply.

Podobnie jak carbonara, hamburger, pizza... oj można by tak wymieniać i wymieniać na upartego 😊..."to make dinner for hungry and poor" brzmi to tak jakbym miał mieć przed oczami biedne Afrykańskie wioski do których dotarła pomoc humanitarna UNICEFU a prawda jest taka że mówimy tu po prostu o klasie średniej,kiedyś zwanej robotniczą😀 Do tej pory zdecydowana większość zachodniego społeczeństwa nie może sobie pozwolić na jedzenie tego czego tylko dusza zapragnie ponieważ są "hungry and poor"😊 Zarabiam około 7 tysięcy do ręki miesięcznie ( zależy ile wpadnie mi zleceń). Myślisz że nie chciałbym jeść częściej steków z Wagyu, Sushi u Roberta de Niro w Nobu lub KFC? Nie stać mnie heh

If you like "metka cebulowa" so much, you should try "tatar" - some Polish restaurants have tatar on the menu. Tatar is just like the metka - raw minced meat, but served with egg, spices, bred and sometimes pickled cucumber.

Hi Andre, it appears you are known where you go. Have you been to United States? I had a family member in Poland while he was in the army, one thing he fell in love with is polish food. He said everything tasted so delicious. Everything there is made fresh, and organic. At least that is how it use to be. Out of pure curiosity have you found anything in Poland that visitors she be on notice before they visit. I'm not sure, I was aware that you have been traveling Europe, but you have also been spending lots of time in Poland. I have also ran across other bloggers in Poland, for most part some were rather surprised on how the country looks. Some Bloggers mentioned that before they left their country to travel to Poland, they were put on alert. Informed that it's super dangerous. This was the gentleman's second visit. He didn't face any issues, also was aware that Poland was, for most part destroyed during WWII. He found Poland, and people very hospitable, and pleasant. Mr. Andre, what is your take on that?

Yes. Also, don't hesitate to visit the most famous restaurant in Białystok, 'Prezydencka, located on Szkolna 17 Street. The only place in Poland still serves a traditional medieval dish called 'Bigos z banana i mandarynkami', made using the 'tuszenie' technique. You won't regret it.

sour rye soup (żurek) is something really Polish, something similar to all the other meals ( sauerkraut stew, dumplings, pork chops) you can find also in neighboring countries, but żurek in bread is unique and more specific to Poland than anything else.

So I was correct, after reading all the comments. Mr. Andre has been hanging around Poland, his wife is also a very beautiful woman and his children. I wish everyone the best, it's good to see that everyone is enjoying themselves, young people are learning English language, which I find the hardest to learn. It seems franch and spanish is much easier. Truly I envy people that can move around any country where no bullets are flying at you. (Pls note, I'm not talking about Ukraine). Unfortunately, some countries that are suppose to be civilized, have their share of murdets, robberies, car theft, homelessness-people sleeping on the streets, or in tents. Iligal immigrants are taking over some countries.

Next time when you will try Rye soup in bread - try it in better place and eat this bread bowl simultaneously when you will eat the soup. If bread bowl is good and crispy, then you have to bite it between every spoon of soup. Next one: Lotos restaurant (Belwederska street), Gruba Kaśka, Bar Piwny Piotruś, BAR MLECZNY NA ZĄBKOWSKIEJ, Paragraf, Inside, Ulubiona, Pawilony. This is unique and mandatory ;)
