Great vid I'm here for the boltboyz lol. Personally I'd put Longstrikes in the top spot purely because Lumineth absolutely love 1 drop. SCE has the versatility to not care with Scions, and can afford not being 1 drop which is great

It's a travesty that skaven jezzails are artillery units. They are THE sharpshooters of the setting, but with this season's rules and their silly role as artillery mean that the actual sharpshooters of the setting can't even play as sharpshooters.

Yeah Number 5 for the skaven. I played yesterday, and got alpha striked by SOOOOO many mortal wounds by the gunnter runners which wiped nearly 400pts of my army before I got to do anything 😂 And it's vids lile this that makes see how naff blissbarb archers really are XD

we're all here to play age of sigmar and some of these mofos out here playing 40k lol. kinda feel like ranged weapons should be capped at 18" if its not a big artillery piece like a cannon or a catapult. great video, the editing was really nice too with highlighting the key parts of the warscroll. quality summaries as always. keep up the good work

I take sharp shooter battalion with Gitz, just because i have 2 units of shootas,i can't go with One drop list so i decide to go wide with drop and grab all the benefit i can (shootas in sharpshooters,squig hoppers and bounders inside vanguard,Hero in warlord etc etc) and also shootas sharpshoters are here fot the meme

I'm pretty new to the game, but what about KO thunderers? 10 in a boat is a lot of shots with a 24" threat range (or kind of infinite using fly high). And the admiral can buff their rend.

They are good and tough but they dont cause mortal wounds and the common theme in this video is either causing mortals or sheer amounts of shots and they are neither really. Just reliable and good, not great.

You forgot the honor mention to rotmire creed. I play a lot with gutrot, and 2 rotmire with them. I can go for dr in any edge and sharpshoot the less armor heroes, and even charge after that. I even DR with orgots to a gloomspite and destroyed his loonshrine and killed the squigboss general, infectig almos all the army shooting 10 of the 30 shots to a unit of 30 hoppers in a 250 team tournament player, in the high tables.... This guys can go 3/3 with obly the total attack 2 shoot each for 130, and DR for the edge, and infect a lot... Maybe isnt the top 10 sharpshooters, but i feel like they deserve a honor mention xD

Surprised sisters didn't get at least an honorable mention. A unit of 10 with an ability to boost attacks, mortals on 6 and a free unleash hell. Battleline in living cities for outflank deployment and can coalition with storm cast and sylvaneth

Surprised that Grundstok Thunderers didn't make the list, pretty easy to put them within range and with an extra 2 rend. (The 15 Thunderer list actually wants to be a 1 drop, but that can change if Sharpshooters become more relevant) Double Frigate lists might as well throw some skyriggers in sharpshooter as you can't be a 1 drop anyway. 45x 3/3/-1/1 isn't nothing! (Before you consider all out attack, or one of the larger units (18 attacks) picking up an extra 2 rend etc) Not much is surviving that after also taking a Celestium grenade to the face, Skragrott. :P

I think flamers in Eternal conflagration should definitely be in the list. Easily top 10 and strong argument for top 5 or 3.

18" range can make things tricky for flamers, even if they have a great 9" move. Definitely deserve top 10 status; but, they aren't in the same tier as longstrikes, sentinels, or bow ladies (and honestly judicators with crossbows? They're almost as common as longstrikes these days in stormcast lists)

Funnily enough idineth. We played the rules wrong and thought that putting a galletion champion unit in fromt of his deepkin army would make his army entirely immune to shooting. Thankfully after reading the rules at home this does not seem to be the case

Isn't Tzeentch Skyfire also damm scary for attacks that cannot receive any negative modifier to hit and wound and save buff? No debuffs, no "Lookout Sir!", no cover save, no "All-out Defence", no "Mystic Shield", is crazy. Plus they have 2 rend spells and that fatemaster that +1 to wound.. Combo-ing with Leadership of the Alpha is just sick. Lucky they have mount and cannot be Sharpshooters. But then they will be number 1 if there are foot Infantry version. (Pray hard for that day to never come) I sincerely hope that the Galletian Hero rule stay.. Hahaha

Sadly doomwheels are behemoth units and have more then 4 wounds so aren’t really able to get into the sharpshooter battailon. Yet that doesn’t mean that they are bad at sniping smaller heroes. If you do everything correctly a dommwheel is going to be able to deal to every unit in your enemy army up to 4d3 mortal wounds in a single turn

Just a reminder though, the long strikes can not take a champion if you are using the battalion, the bird it gets counts as the champion as mounted and the battalion does not allow for mounted models

I just don't like the idea of sharpshooter battalion in the game. I think it just takes away the whole point of protecting your foot based champions.

It sounds pretty dumb; making a new rule so foot heroes for once aren't bad and get deleted off the table, only to introduce another new rule to ignore that rule. can't have foot heroes be good!
