Love my Nautitech 441. I sail it in the Windward and Leeward Islands. I regularly out sail larger charter cats. In 2 meter seas and 18-20 kts of wind from 50-60 deg we usually make 10 kts avg and leave the other boats far astern

Hey Captain! I’m thrilled to finally get a comment from a model owner!!! Would you ever consider an interview? Thanks so much for watching and especially for the real life feedback on the 44! D

Would be nice to have your comparison of the Nautitech 44 Open with the Excess 14. We have a similar retiring plan for 2006 with our family. Thank you

Hey Felix. For me, between those two, it would be the Nautitech 44 Open, without question. Build, finish, performance, personal attention. It's all there. Hope that helps. D

is it really 10.9m? I think that's 38 ft. circa 9:00. sailed on one of these on the weekend. Nice connected feeling on the helms

Great to hear from you Rob. Can you tell me more about your impressions sailing her? D

@@navalgazingatcampdavid really enjoyed feeling the helm connected directly to the rudders (via chain?). When I chartered a FP Saona 47 it felt like I was steering with a stretchy elastic band. Hulls notably narrower than FP/lagoon/excess and interior space reflected that. Having throttles on 1 side only appears a bit scary, but mitigated by a mast mounted camera

I love this boat but my wife dosen't like the saloon, particularly the small saloon space which is further taken up by the "bar" design. She wants more space that can be enclosed by solid structures, like the Bali, Catana OC and the Windelo. I would say the Balance 442 or HH44 saloon design would work better for a 44 footer.

Hey Art. Your wife and I are on the same page. Honestly, you would love the Balance 442. It has surprising space. The Tanna 47 is also an option. D

@@navalgazingatcampdavid hmmm thx for the suggestion! gonna find a chance to try the Balance 442.

Is Sylvia real?

Well, given the size of my chores list I can assure you that she is. Lol.

I really enjoy you dude, but in my opinion the story of your channel is Sylvia. Her story is compelling. I was so taken by Sylvia and her plight. FOR SYLVIA!!! I don't know why. "What would Sylvia say?" is such a crushing question. "What would Sylvia say?" is an imposition of expectation. It's an imposition of like a Lady's expectation. I've never seen her and never met her (and I don't want to [never meet your heroes]). I just have a conception of her that she is the type of woman that says "This needs to be right!" They way you speek about her dude is quite fascinating. I like having a Sylvia phantom in my mind when it comes to class. Never meet your heroes. EVER. I enjoy imagining Sylvia as a muse of class and standards.

Find a boat with a seakeeper for Sylvia and just lease a boat for a year or two. Sylvia!!!! Sylvia is a challenge, but a challenge that can be overcome! seakeeper and a lease!
