No 3 please. i adore that silhouette but looks like I'm going to be out voted by Balenciaga. New subscriber here. My Nanna taught me to sew, growing up in Australia. However, her mother was a tailoress from the UK who would have made bespoke clothing from patterns she made herself. I've recently taken up sewing again. rediscovered the simple joy and meditation of hand sewing and purchased a new sewing machine. I found this both fascinating and inspiring. Thankyou so very much 💖

I think #1 because I’d like to see the structure to keep the bow standing out like it does on the dress 😊

Nice video! Lots of the haute couture gowns from that era and even now can have a 30cm hem, whatever is best!

Excellent craftsmanship! Wonderful to see a person who understands draping, drafting, toile and full construction. Thank you! The YSL gown from 1983 is stunning, of course, and the Balenciaga is a masterclass in drape and flow, but I think that the Lanvin design, with its layers of construction, from the corselette, to the interlinings, outer corset and then the fashion fabric layer, might be the best test of your talent. Have you ever considered any of the Madeleine Vionnet gowns? Outside of Balenciage, Vionnet was one of the greatest pioneers in Haute Couture.

Thank you so much! Yes Vionnet is absolutely on my list! ☺️

@ thank you for introducing me to Vionnet and the bias cut! (yes, I've learnt it was already used in Middle Age but I'm new to it)

An extension table attached to your sewing machine will give you fabric support and better ergonomics.
