From a Milan Fans perspective the transfer of Tonali is an absolute disgrace! I feel like the CEO's of Milan are doing everything they can to piss us off. He's more than just a asset - he's been a Milan fan forever, he turned down a transfer to Inter back when he was playing at Brescia and cut his salary so that he can move to Milan. He bleeds rossoneri, everyone loves him and his shirt is the best selling jersey, because literally everyone thought that he was going to stay forever with us and would become a future captain. I would have happily moved on Leao or Theo but this breaks my heart. After Zlatans retirement, Maldini's sacking and now this transfer i'm just so done with everything :(

It’s sad bc I thought he’d be here for a while. Tonali and Calabria were the two players shirts I wanted bc I thought they’d retire here. But if we’re being honest 70+ million euros is overpriced for tonali and pobega can do 90% of the stuff tonali does. Time will tell but if we bring in a mid and a rw for tonali’s transfer money this can be a win-win, he might even come back on loan like lukaku

Note on Tonali though - he's absolutely not a floaty luxury-type player. He's extremely combative and deceptively strong on the ball. He's not the best defensively, that's true, but he's more of a Gattuso than a Pirlo.

As a Milan fan, I would have no problem with selling Tonali, but only if it was done properly. It was the same with sacking Maldini - fine if that's what they want to do, but they handled it so poorly, and now the squad is rattled, and suddenly important players don't want to stay. I've seen reports that Maignan is refusing a new contract, there's talk of Theo wanting a move, Tonali's out the door. Cardinale is destroying the project of the last few years to build something new, and it's so stupid.

Oh for sure we needed Tonali. People forget that our bench is weak minus 1 or 2 players. While Longstaff, Wilock, and even Joe are good, we need to add that spice of quality into that area. Like, we got rid of Shelvey, and basically brought no one in to replace him. So it's very welcomed, and makes our squad stronger. Giving us more options, rather than having to always focus on Bruno being magic.
