I was gonna suggest a gate and no tresspassing signs until I watched more of the video and realized you're already covered. 😂 Idk if all the lots have driveway access, but a Ubolt and wheel on the bottom of your gate would help too. I know it takes money but you can get one at lowes for around $25. I was gonna suggest asking uncle David to maybe buy that one bent up cattle gate if he was willing to part with it. "Drifters Pass or Dreamers Pass" could be a good name for another part of the property. Also maybe exchange numbers with your neighbors in case they see activity on your new property. The "not knowing" would bother me if someone was on my new property. And again... I'm so happy for you all to start this new journey and hope all is well with Dolly and everyone. 🎊💜

Good morning DD5 Mike I'm going to give you a couple of suggestions now you can tell me to go to "H" if you want but I thought I would suggest this. 1) you have a lot of cedar already down on the landing cut posts no smaller than a six-inch small end to take to your new property, for your permanent fence. Go wood then two steel wood then two steel it makes your fence a lot stronger. (take this from a farmer's son who has done many of them. 2) while the ground is frozen take Lift out there and brush hog all your property find out the lay of the land and get a good view.. That way you will not have to do it when you have more priorities. Congrats again and God Bless from your Canadian Friend.

Please don't think of this the wrong way as I'm just making a suggestion. Your property is beautiful but its flat and may flood so please elevate the building site few feet high to prevent your house from flooding in the future.

Talk to your homeowners insurance company to see if there are specifications for building on a flood plain. Some companies require the house to be elevated to qualify for insurance. Also, flood insurance can be costly!

Since yall have a nice big piece of land & you may not be using every inch of it for a while - people who cut hay for a living will often cut hay for half ( half for you / half for them) at no cost to you. Plus you'll probably have more than you need & can sell what you don't need. Win, win ! 😊💕 just a hint "" the second cut is better , more nutrients than first cut. Good luck.

Mike dig a pond deep use the dirt to rise the slab your going to build the barn on remember it gets flooded out there and for the kids building too rase it up too with dirt anything your building rase it up for flooding weather 😊😊

Just some ideas. Mow the place to get a better idea as to where you might like to put the house. Also clean the trash up but wear gloves when you do. You never know what is in the trash. When you put the cement in be sure to put rebar in it. Put it up high as you don't want to suffer from flooding as one never knows. Weather patterns are crazy these days. I just want to see you move there and be happy. After all is said and done a nice size greenhouse to plant things to eat would be helpful on the budget. Y'all take care and really enjoyed watching.

Your Plans sound good keep in mind where you’re going to put your House as close to the Electrical box as possible because Wiring and electrical breaker boxes can get very expensive. just sayin. Looking forward to your new adventure.

Hello, so exciting. I would actually suggest bush hogging the entirety of the property. That way you would be able to see where any water has a tendency to collect and stand. The grass will more than likely regrow before you get the goats there. Another thought would be to fence a bigger area for the goats and then divide it in half so you can do a rotational gracing system for them.

There’s a lot of broom sage on the property because nothing has been done with it for awhile. When you start bush hogging it will start to fertilize and enrich the land. You will have some good fields for making hay and having larger animals if that’s what you decide to do later on. Congratulations and best wishes on your endeavors!!

Up there! Build up there out of the flood zone, It appears where your stuff is has been flooded many times creating the steep bank to up there. So build up there, have a nice set of steps from earth and stone with maybe a slide for going down beside it. A large Gazebo at the Creek. With solar powered lighting the pathway and gazebo.

Perhaps you and Lyssa can sit down with paper and pencil and draw out some of your ideas as to WHERE you might like to put things. Doesn't matter if you can't draw well, just put it to paper. You will know what the pictures are...like your pergola, firepit, garden, possible house areas etc. Maybe even draw the house in all 3 places with some of your other ideas to see what works best. I did that with my garden stuff and when we built our house many years ago and it really helped. And it is a lot easier to erase and idea on paper if it doesn't work or look right in that location. I am excited for you all and can't wait until you can get started on it. Also don't forget to think of the positioning of the front of the house with the way the sun rises and sets according to your likes and desires about that. All the best. Can't wait to see you staring to bush hog on the new property because then it's for sure you'll be moving the Shouse and once moved to the new property it can be completed for the boys. Then the animals and then the camper and you can clean up the landing on the mountain and move on out. IMO once bush hogged and the grass is lower it will give you a better idea of where you'll be putting your home and the Shouse, I wouldn't keep the animals right on top of the homes just for the smell of the animals for sure. Hopefully the dogs won't be as loud as they are because with neighbors closer you don't need problems. Hopefully the dogs won't need to be Locked up all the time once you get the are fenced in. It's a lot of work and a lot of planning but thankfully you have time to get the bigger things done before the big move. You'll love it as will the kids. Hopefully they finish school this year where they are and then transfer to a school closer so they meet kids in the area. I'm excited for you and them. You've got this. Keep doing you. I am sure folks were using this property as hunting or what not with the creek....Indeed get the gates closes and signs and purple paint on all sides. Plus get with neighbors soonest you can so they can keep an eye out until you're there full time. We had that same issue until we were able to move onto the property.
