For this year's advent calendar I will try out Yogi tea for the first time just because I heard of the messages on the label 😅

I love this slow evening routine! It is so relaxing to watch. For fantasy recs: I adore the Prison Healer series by Lynette Noni or the Spin the Dawn series by Elizabeth Lim. There's also everything by Chloe Gong or if you want to try some sci-fi I think the Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson is really good. It is all YA though, since I'm also still trying out adult fantasy for myself :)

My current creative obsession is a pack of those multicolor pencils, where the core is a combo of a bunch of colors that change as you draw with them. I also got a little book about how to doodle because it's not something that comes natural to me, so I've got several pages of wildly colored kitchen appliances 🤣 But I do have a bunch of fantasy recs! 1. Shady Hollow by Juneau Black - it wouldn't be an impressive small-town murder mystery on it's own, but it's a town full of animals and has some cozy vibes (I pictured it like Maurice Sendak's Little Bear cartoon, and I'm excited to continue the series) 2. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen - look, there is no way to understand the worldbuilding, but the vibes are both dark and whimsical, and I loved the characters 3. The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst - it's cute, it's cozy, and it's a fascinating world and magic system (the romance is important but not the main plot, and it's a little longer than it needs to be, but it's the cottagecore of my dreams) 4. The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer - this is kind of like magical realism, because it's set in our world/time but there is another Narnia-like world that the characters eventually wind up in (I also thought the structure was fun, because there's a "storyteller" who interrupts) 5. The Butcher of the Forest by Premee Mohamed - this novella is my max limit of horror, but it feels like a dark fairy tale in a fantasy world with a dangerous forest

My two most recent favourite fantasy novels are both by V. E. Schwab. I've been recommending them to everyone! The Invisible life of Addie LaRue and A Darker Shade of Magic. The second book is the first part of a trilogy.

put a cover on your pot when you wait for your soup to "unfreeze" in the pot on the stove. It will be faster. Maybe you are doing that already and did not have a cover because you are filming.

mmm KZbinrs have videos on using Vitamix for soups.... mmmm. the onions and peppers MUST caramelized, Vitamix soups are always bitter for that reason. Maybe roasting the vegetables help. You should make your own chicken broth. Buy a Traders Joe chicken. Put it in a pot, cover it in water and simmer covered for one hour. After 1 hour, take the chicken out, leaving the "beginning " broth in the pot. Take the meat off the chicken, then put back the carcass in the water and continue to simmer for 3? 10? hours. You can add onion celery old carrots to the pot. Then take the carcass and vegetable left over out and you have chicken broth. put it in 2 cups freezer containers in the freezer. Anytime you need broth for a squash or vegetable soup, you take a frozen container out of the freezer and you will have excellent flavouring for your soup. Gelatin is good for you.
