I don't know why, I'm following everything you're doing but I'm still getting the wrong results.

@Tessio I made a vertex break and then unwraping but it didn't work, but when I deleted it as Karim , it worked and gave me a correct result

For stretched world map yes, for standard rectangular unstretched map is wrong
@gergolaky3624 Жыл бұрын
but you cant apply a non distorted worldmap onto a sphere, thats mathematicly impossible

Why do you replace the top and bottom of the sphere first? What purpose does that action have?
@patrickabroad2 жыл бұрын
When you make a sphere, there is only one vertice on the top and bottom. That means all the vertical line actually share the same vert on the top and bottom so If you unwrap straight away, you'll see an ugly unwrap on the top and bottom because Max doesn't really know which direction to make a seem. You'll note that when he replaces the top and bottom, he never welds the vertices together, so if you were to zoom in REALLY close there is actually a tiny hole on the top and bottom. This help the Unwrap UVW work cleanly because it can just make the seem along one of the vertical line, which doesn't share any vertices with the other vertical lines. Hope that makes sense.
