Maybe it was common practice at the time but assembling loose needle rollers in the big end was Un expected .

Amazing...... really, near hand made 60 years ago !!and probably still running somewhere as well THE BACON SLICER....AND there was one sold in Adelaide,SA. I heard , in the late 50's, the new potential buyer took it out for a run and complained that it would only do around a hundred mph!... guess what they found out?.... yep no motor oil !!!!Jzzzzzz
