Up a Mountain With...Miriam Kennedy

Alyn meets Miriam Kennedy to chat about her motivation and inspiration for hill walking and wild camping. They spend a sunny weekend hiking and wild camping on Gola, an island off the north west coast of Donegal.

Fantastic journey @Miriamkennedy, who knew it all started in a musical festival! 🍍on 🍕, unbelievable and poor Susan 🙀Always the cook, does that mean Alyn done all the washing up!? That scenery was amazing BTW, spectacular cliffs and that beach at the end looked lovely! 🍫? No Custard cremes?! Alyn, islands are the best👍 What a spot for a chat on the way to camp with that sea arch and those enormous boulders. A beautiful (dry and calm😊) spot to sit and have a conversation👍Agree with others that your engaging, professional and diligent manner plays a big part in providing a comfortable space for a real conversation👍 Definitely agree with Miriam that there is more peace without the camera. Great to hear from Miriam about her experience of the outdoors and how fear does or doesn't play a part in people making decisions👍 What a beautiful evening looking over the sea and a stunning morning☀️ A great project which I have no doubt will encourage and support others to overcome fear and experience the magic of the outdoors😊

Dry and calm is exsctly right Gerry!!!!!!! But you are right it was just so impressive. Those stacks overlooking that seascape and setting sun, just beautiful. The whole series has been a real inspiration- meeting you guys and having a focused time to talk about walking and motivation has been a real indulgence and eye opener. There's more to come. This was lovely , certainly one to watch twice. I agree with one comment made about being on your own camping or hiking When you realise that the hills and people up on them are all well, there is little to fear. Solo is the way to experience solitude . Well done on making this .

Agreed Miriam Kennedy is an excellent communicator of wild nature and what it means to walk and camp in it. Think its possible to distinguish her presence on utube from other channels. Of course each channel brings something but hers is distinguishable. Thx for posting. JMO.

Great video and a great idea for a program and series that no one else does or is doing. Having watched many of Miriam’s videos it’s a cool reflection on both your interview style and Miriam’s videos that she seems no different to me before and after watching this. That tells of a tradition of ‘telling it as it is’ in you both. Great job.
